Reserve hands Clips third straight loss

BERLIN CENTER — In a season-ending matchup of league champions, Western Reserve showed who is the best.

Danielle Vuletich totaled 37 points and 13 rebounds in leading the Blue Devils over Columbiana, 75-47, Thursday.

Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference co-champion Western Reserve finishes the regular season with an 18-4 record. East Ohio Athletic Conference champion Columbiana lost its third in a row to drop to 16-6 on the season.

Western Reserve, ranked 11th in the Division IV state poll, led 19-6 in the first quarter and 42-21 at halftime.

Vuletich scored 35 points through three quarters to give Western Reserve a commanding 62-38 lead.

Olivia Pater added nine points and Laura Sigworth eight points to the winning effort. Alyssa Serensky collected seven rebounds, four assists and three steals, Kennedy Miller six rebounds and six assists, and Brooke Morris had four assists.

Grace Hammond topped the Clippers with 13 points. Kayla Muslovski added 10 points.

The Western Reserve junior varsity team also won, 41-14, to finished its season with a 19-2 record.

Kayla Owen led the Blue Devils with 13 points. Jade Duvall added nine points and Jenna Heater eight.
