Klem, Robb grab at-large spots

CANTON–Crestview’s Rachel Klem will be heading to the Div. II state swimming meet after earning an at-large berth in the 100-yard breaststroke over the weekend. Klem was seventh (1:06.10) in the 100-yard breaststroke at Friday’s district meet in Cleveland and will be seeded 16th.

The top two finishers in each event along with 16 at-large qualifiers based on time earned a trip to the state meet, which is set to begin with preliminaries at 5 p.m. Thursday at C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton. The Division II state finals will be held at 5 p.m. Friday.

West Branch’s Jamyson Robb also earned an at-large berth in the 200 IM after a third-place finish (2:04.98) Friday. She will be seeded fourth. Robb’s time was 1 1/2 seconds better than her ninth-place time at state last year.

The 200 IM will be Robb’s second event at state. She will be out to defend her state title in the 100-yard breaststroke after earning an automatic berth with a time of 1:02.14 Friday, breaking her own district record of 1:03.08 set last year.
