Ten Beavers open with pins

WHEELING, W.Va. — Beaver Local and Oak Glen scored 10 pins each in its opening round matches on Thursday during the first day of the Ron Mauck OVAC Wrestling Championships at WesBanco Arena.

Scoring pins for the Beavers were Mark Emmerling (120), John Woodburn (126), Logan Ours (132), Cole McComas (138), Devon Salsberry (145), Jonathan Potts (152), Skyler Lasure (160), Logan Krulik (170), Alex Solansky (182) and Nicholas Wukotich (195). Daniel Wirth won by a decision at 285.

Scoring pins for the Bears were Camden Barr (106), Brandon Dlugopolski (113), Clayton Lamb (120), Kaden Lundy (126), Camden O’Connor (138), Jonathan Creese (145), Peyton Hall (152), Chase Smith (160), Dylan Heinrich (170) and Kyler O’Connor (182). Josh Blake won by decision at 285.

Oak Glen sits in second place with 42 points behind Parkersburg South (50). Beaver Local is third with 40 points.

Opening-round winners for Wellsville include Mason Simms (106), Jason Tice (126), Justin Sarge (152) and Caden Weekley (220).

East Liverpool’s Justin Bucheit (113), Howard Williams (132), Eric Williams (138), Devon Keys (152), Skylor Wooley (220) all won opening round matches.

Southern Local’s opening round winners include Chance Wooley (126), Dylan Milhoan (145), Wyatt Morris (170), Hunter Morris (182), Sam Lowe (195) and Stephen Craig (285).

Southern is 12th with 21 points. East Liverpool sits in 13th with 20 points and Wellsville is tied for 16th with 16 points.

For Crestview, A.J. Coppersmith (126) won his first-round match.
