Almost like a holiday

NEW MIDDLETOWN — The Springfield Local School District will be closed Friday so students and staff can attend the OHSAA state championship football game in Canton.

Second-ranked Springfield (14-0 ) will play top-ranked Anna (13-1) in the Division VI final at 10 a.m. Friday at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. Tickets are $11 in advance at www.Pro FootballHOF.com/tickets or $17 at the gate. Parking is $10.

Basketball rescheduled

NEW MIDDLETOWN — The Crestview at Springfield boys basketball game scheduled for Dec. 10 has been moved to Feb. 11.

Potters win two more

ST. CLAIRSVILLE–The East Liverpool bowling teams won a pair of matches against Bridgeport Monday at St. Clair Lanes.

The Potters won the boys match 2,157-1,646. Alfred Todd led the Potters (3-1) with a 233 high game and a 438 series. Anthony DeMarco added a 204 high game and a 407 series.

The girls stayed unbeaten with a 1,699-1,307 victory. Allsion Danver led the Potters (4-0) with a 179 high game and 322 series. Hannah Russell added a 161 high game and 320 series.

The Potters host Crestview Thursday.
