Springfield too much for United

HANOVERTON–The United girls soccer team fell 6-2 to a powerful Springfield squad Monday.

Morgan Briceland and Hannah Minor each scored one goal for the Eagles. Samantha Wolfe had both assists. Madelynne Brieck and Allison Connor each had three saves in goal.

Springfield is now 14-1 overall. Kylee Kosek powered the Tigers with five goals.

United hosts Canton Central Catholic in Div. III sectional action next Wednesday.

East Palestine 5, Columbiana 5

COLUMBIANA–East Palestine and Columbiana battled to a 5-5 draw in soccer action Monday.

Josh Welch had four goals and an assist to lead the Bulldogs, while Brandon Turcola had a goal and two assists. Ryan Rosen and Schaelee Guy had one assist each. Matt Garcia had 10 saves in goal.

East Palestine is now 8-5-3 overall and 4-3-1 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference. The Bulldogs host a Division III sectional matchup against Waterloo next Tuesday.

Wellsville 6, Leetonia 5

LEETONIA — Casey Lemasters scored five goals and added an assist in leading Wellsville past Leetonia, 6-5, Monday.

Wellsville finishes the regular season Saturday morning at Jackson Milton.

Austintown Fitch 3, West Branch 2

AUSTINTOWN — Austintown Fitch found the net late for the lone goal of the second half to beat West Branch, 3-2, in girls soccer action Monday.

Emma Egli and Abie Davis scored for the Warriors. Lexi Biery and Haley Jones added assists. Taylor Slagle recorded eight saves in goal.

West Branch will host Salem on Wednesday.

Oak Glen 10, John Marshall 0

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va.–The Oak Glen boys soccer team pounded John Marshall 10-0 on Senior Night Monday.

Lucas Harris had a hat trick and two assists to power the Golden Bears, while Jeremy Adams had two goals and three assists.

Alex Dilullo, Andrew Snyder, Chucky Varner, Andrew Giambroni and Stephon Polly all had one goal. Dilullo, Giambroni and Polly each added an assist. Mason Knchar also had an assist. Jacob Clark had eight saves in goal.

Oak Glen is at Beaver Local Wednesday.
