Rebels earn 10th shutout of the season

COLUMBIANA–The Crestview boys soccer team picked up its 10th shutout of the season by blanking Salem 5-0 on Thursday.

The Rebels are now 12-1 overall.

Ryan Emch tallied a pair of goals for the Rebels, while Nick Novak had a busy night with a goal and three assists. Jarred Kalina added a goal and an assist. Colt Grane finished with one goal. Dale McGoogan had an assist.

Crestview keeper Carter Blakeman had six saves in goal. Max Kemats had 10 saves for the Quakers.

Crestview is at Ursuline Saturday.

East Liverpool 1,Weir 0

EAST LIVERPOOL — Ayden Payne scored on a penalty kick with 25 minutes left and Cole Dailey had 10 saves as East Liverpool’s boys soccer team bested Weir 1-0 on Thursday.

East Liverpool is 6-2-2. Weir falls to 10-3.

The East Liverpool jv team won 2-1. Connor Loosemore tallied two goals for the Potters. Gabe Dunlap had six saves in goal.

East Liverpool is at Steubenville on Monday.

Columbiana 5,

Warren JFK 2

COLUMBIANA–The Columbiana boys soccer team prevailed over Warren JFK 5-2 on Thursday.

Collin Schick turned in a hat trick and an assist for the Clippers, while Drake Daugherty and James Porter took care of the rest of the scoring. Porter and Gabe Heinrich each had one assist.

Nate Burnell had four saves in goal.

Beaver 3, Springfield 2

NEW MIDDLETOWN — Beaver Local’s girls soccer team came up big by downing previously unbeaten Springfield Local 3-2 on Thursday.

Riley Britt scored twice for the Beavers (7-3-3), while Danica Taylor had the other goal. Jensen Britt had an assist. Kylee Kosek had two goals for the Tigers (13-1). She has 42 on the season.

Hailey Russell had 11 saves in goal for the winners who host Weir for a Kick for the Cure match at 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

South Range 5, Lakeview 1

GREENFORD — Canaan Johnson, Camden Thomas, Quinn Pierson, Brandon Smith and Luke McConnell all scored as South Range wrapped up the Northeast 8 boys soccer championship with a 5-1 win over Lakeview on Thursday.

Logan Weaver had three assists while Johnson and Pierson had one each.

Matt Lucas had two saves in goal for the Raiders, 13-1, 11-0.

South Range is ranked No. 4 in the Div. III state poll. The Raiders are at Revere on Tuesday. Revere is ranked eighth in Div. II.

Columbiana 4, Maplewood 0

CORTLAND — Columbiana’s girls soccer team secured a 4-0 win over Maplewood on Thursday.

Columbiana (4-10) got goals from Lily Marsco, Grace Hammond, Rogan Stryffeler and Adrianna Goehring. Hammond and Stryffeler had assists.

Ava Bryant had five saves in goal.

Columbiana is at Lordstown on Wednesday.

Indian Creek 4, Oak Glen 2

WINTERSVILLE — Jeremy Adams and Lucas Harris had goals but Oak Glen’s boys soccer team fell short 4-2 against Indian Creek on Thursday.

Adams had an assist. Jacob Clark had 23 saves.
