Heartland 3, Ursuline 0

YOUNGSTOWN — Heartland Christian improved to 9-3 with a 25-12, 25-21, 25-11 win over Youngstown Ursuline on Wednesday.

Leading the way for Heartland were Makayla Osborn with 11 kills, 11 digs and two blocks; Lydia Wilson 33 assists, 11 points, 15 digs and two blocks; Dara Arthurs 10 kills, 14 points, four aces and 17 digs; Emma Hall 10 points, three aces, seven kills, two blocks and 14 digs; and Jeanna Morgan had 23 digs.

The Lions will play at United at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Western Reserve 3, Springfield 2

NEW MIDDLETOWN — Western Reserve handed Springfield its first Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference loss, 25-21, 25-23, 13-25, 23-25, 15-11, Tuesday.

Both teams are 5-1 in league play.

The Blue Devils (6-4) were led by Danielle Vuletich with 18 kills and five blocks, Laura Sigworth seven kills, 16 assists and six aces, Kayla Owen 14 points, Kennedy Miller 13 assists and Morgan Donithan 20 digs.

For the Tigers (8-2), Lyndsey Smith had 15 kills and four blocks, Carly Stitzel 19 points, five aces, seven kills and 18 digs, MacKenzie Kliem 11 points, Lauren Ranelli 24 assists and Carlee Bacon 17 digs.

The Blue Devils also won the junior varsity match, 25-17, 25-19.

Beaver frosh

The Beaver Local freshmen beat Indian Creek, 25-4, 25-12, Wednesday.

Briar Wolski has 12 points for the Beavers. Emma Joseph had eight points and Abby Hamilton added six.

Leetonia frosh

LEETONIA — The Leetonia freshmen dropped a 25-14, 25-27, 25-12 decision to Jackson-Milton on Wednesday.

Paige Grope scored 14 points and Emily Fultz 10 for Jackson-Milton.

Kendra Cole had eight points and Landry Baker six for Leetonia.
