Unbeaten Rebels spike Wellsville

COLUMBIANA–The Crestview volleyball team kept its undefeated season going with a 25-12, 21-25, 25-13, 25-16 win over Wellsville Saturday.

The Rebels are now 12-0 overall.

Molly Emch powered the Crestview offense with 16 kills, while also contributing two blocks and an ace. Tess Neville also came up big for the Rebels with 14 kills, four aces and eight digs. Brenna Auer had a solid match with eight kills and 12 digs. Sidney Rambo finished with seven kills and two blocks.

Lucy Montgomery kept things flowing for the Rebels with 30 assists. Shelby Rambo added six kills and six blocks. Amelia Montgomery chipped in 14 digs and two aces.

For the Tigers (9-2), Emma Smith had 13 kills, Alana Amato had eight kills and Gia Pucci and Meaghan Nixon had five kills apiece.

Also for Wellsville, Emily McNicol had 14 assists, Greta Cartwright had 16 assists and Aubri Ramsey had three aces and six digs.

In jv action, Crestview won 25-12, 26-24. Lainey Mercure had eight kills, six digs and six points for the Rebels. Lainey Ericson added six kills and three blocks.

Anika Trasher had two aces and seven kills for the Tigers. Stakya Travers-Sollis had four kills.

The Rebels host Champion Tuesday. Wellsville hosts Leetonia Thursday.

Salem 3, Cardinal Mooney 0

YOUNGSTOWN–The Salem volleyball team recorded a 25-19, 25-11, 25-15 sweep over Youngstown Cardinal Mooney Saturday.

The Quakers are now 8-4 overall.

Elly Exline helped power Salem with 16 kills and 10 digs. Hayden Carner added seven kills and four blocks, while Jaden Hamilton had seven kills and two blocks.

Also for Salem, Jenna McClish had 16 digs, while Kaylee Freeman had 26 assists. Taylor Troy finished with 20 points and seven digs.

Salem swept the jv match 25-20, 25-15. Emma Hochadel had 13 points and five aces, while Hannah Bowers had five kills.

The Salem freshman team defeated Crestview in three sets. Kylie Skinner had 10 digs for the Quakers. Zoie Reid had five kills.

Salem hosts Eastern Buckeye Conference rival West Branch Tuesday.

Lisbon takes Sebring Invitational

SEBRING–The Lisbon volleyball team won the Sebring Invitational Saturday by sweeping all three of its matches.

The Blue Devils defeated Campbell 25-16, 25-17 in their first match. For Lisbon, Maddie Liberati had eight points, nine aces, nine kills and 10 digs. McKenna Dailey added 11 points and 10 digs. Callie Steed had five kills and six aces.

In the second match, Lisbon beat Akron Springfield 25-9, 25-11.

Justyce Vrable led the Blue Devils with 13 points and five aces. Callie Steed added 10 points and six kills. Maddie Liberati had five aces and 10 digs.

The Blue Devils took down Sebring 25-17, 25-11 in their final match.

Liberati tallied 10 kills and 13 digs. Steed had eight points, 10 digs and five kills. Vrable finished with five points, three aces and four blocks.

Lisbon is now 9-5 overall and hosts United Tuesday.

Heartland 3, United 0

HANOVERTON–The Heartland Christian volleyball team brushed aside United 25-18, 25-21, 25-14 on Saturday.

Emma Hall paced the Lions (10-3) with 10 kills and 10 digs. Makayla Osborn added nine kills, six points and five digs.

United (4-7) was led by Tori Tschappatt with eight kills and two points. Savannah Burton finished with nine kills and two points. Lauren DelVichio added 10 assists, while Haley Dees had nine assists.

United won the jv match 25-21, 25-17. Rileigh Altman led Heartland with three kills, two points, eight assists and eight digs.

Heartland hosts Columbiana Monday.

Beaver Local 3, Brooke 0

STEUBENVILLE–The Beaver Local volleyball team swept Brooke 25-13, 25-16, 25-22 in a Dig Pink match Saturday at Franciscan University.

Kodi Kinsey powered the Beavers with 17 points and eight aces.

Also for Beaver Local, Karlee Furman had 10 points, five aces, five kills, five digs and eight assists. Brooke Talbot had eight points, five kills, eight assists and three digs. Bailey Bowersock had three aces and three digs. Eli Kolkowski had two aces, five kills, four blocks and three digs. Leah Riccardo had two kills. Cierrah Thurik added seven digs.

Beaver Local is at Edison Monday.

West Branch 3, Girard 0

GIRARD–The West Branch volleyball team prevailed over Girard 25-15, 25-21, 26-24 on Saturday.

The Warriors are now 11-2 overall.

Jessica Bock tallied 10 points, four blocks and three aces for West Branch, while Sydney Mercer racked up 15 kills. Sammie Tuel added 10 kills, while Riley Tuel had nine kills. Elise Wallace dished out 30 assists and came up with nine digs.

West Branch won the jv match 25-22, 25-16. Ariah Hagan had 11 points and four aces to go along with six assists for the Warriors. Skyler Greeneisen added six kills.

Minerva drops a pair

MINERVA–The Minerva volleyball team dropped a pair of matches against Sandy Valley and Smithville Saturday.

The Lions lost to Sandy Valley 20-25, 26-24, 25-20. Ella Kendrick had eight points for Minerva. Sarah Law had seven points.

Minerva fell to Smithville 25-18, 25-14. Ella Kendrick had four points for the Lions.

Crestview 3, Newton Falls 0

NEWTON FALLS — Crestview’s volleyball team struck down Newton Falls 25-12, 25-9, 25-11 on Thursday in All-American Conference play.For the Rebels (11-0, 5-0), Tess Neville had nine kills, four blocks, four digs and nine points. Brenna Auer added six kills and 14 digs. Sidney Rambo had six kills. Molly Emch had six kills and five blocks. Lucy Montgomery had 24 assists, while Amelia Montgomery had 19 points, five aces and 11 digs. Crestview won the jayvee portion, 28-26, 22-25, 25-15. Allycia Flowers had 10 kills. Hannah Cope added six kills and eight digs.
