Quakers hitting their stride

CUYAHOGA FALLS — The Salem girls and senior Hunter Christopher continued their outstanding seasons with wins at the Pat Ritchie Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.

Christopher captured his second invitational of the year by winning the Division II-III boys race, finishing the 3.1-mile course at Walsh Jesuit High School in 16 minutes, 0.92 seconds. Twin Cameron Christopher finished fifth as the Salem boys took second in the team standings behind West Geauga, 37-54.

The Quakers topped the Division II-III girls field with 68 points, followed by Maplewood with 77.

Salem junior Carly Hall was second in 19:17. Defending Division II state champion Ella Gilson of Hawken was the girls winner in 18:11.

Also for the Quakers, Molly Hopple was seventh, Kami Rohm 14th, Halle Cochran 28th and Allie Murray 34th.

Salem will run at the Boardman Spartan Invitational next Saturday.
