Pidgeon tops EBC tourney

ALLIANCE — Carrollton came out on top during the Eastern Buckeye Conference boys golf championship on Tuesday at the Alliance Country Club.

Carrollton shot a 323, Marlington 335, West Branch 339, Alliance 362, Canton South 374, Minerva 407 and Salem 414.

West Branch’s Nick Pidgeon was the medalist with a 75. Also for the Warriors, Aiden Wiesemann had an 85, Brett Blickensderfer 87 and Garrett Harvey 92.

Beaver Local tri

CALCUTTA — New Philadelphia’s girls golf team edged Beaver and Lowellville on Tuesday at Turkana.

New Philadelphia shot 176, while Beaver Local had a 202 and Lowellville 232.

For the Beavers, McKenna Kyler had a 41, Brooke Briggs 44, Brooke Talbot 51 and Shana Cowsert 66.

Beaver Local is at the Tri-County Invitational on Monday.

South Range 172, Hubbard 195

BOARDMAN — The South Range golf team topped Hubbard, 172-195, Tuesday at Mill Creek North.

The Raidrs were led by Gavin Batdorff and Garrett Sheets with 42s, Kaiden Sykes 43 and Nate Brown 45.

For Hubbard, Jackson Rusnak had a 45.

Salem 221, Canton South 265

EAST SPARTA — The Salem girls golf team upped its mark to 8-6 by downing Canton South, 221-265, Tuesday at Spring Valley.

The Quakers were led by Kelly Hutton with a 47, Lexi Miller 52, Paige Bailey 61 and Emma Brown 61. Brooklyn Menefee topped Canton South with a 63.
