Good day at Patterson for Potters

EAST LIVERPOOL — East Liverpool’s girls soccer team is in for a busy week.

The Potters knocked off Edison 7-0 on Tuesday in the second game of a three-games in three days swing.

Defender Hayden Harrington had two goals including one off a penalty kick for the Potters, 3-6. Allie Kidder added two goals and an assist. Kya Kavanaugh had a goal and three assists. Natalie Parker had a goal and Selena Rogers had an assist. Lexi Danley had a goal as well. Mikayla Reed had a single assist tally.

Alessandra Ferrazzano had seven saves in goal.

East Liverpool was blanked by Weirton Madonna 2-0 on Monday and will host Brooke today.

East Liverpool 4, St. Clairsville 1

EAST LIVERPOOL — East Liverpool’s boys soccer team had a strong showing in dumping St. Clairsville 4-1 on Tuesday.

The Potters are 4-1-1, while St. Clairsville fell to 7-2. East Liverpool and St. Clairsville will both qualify for the OVAC Class 4A Tournament set for next week. Oak Glen and Beaver Local are also expected to make the semifinals as well in the seven-team class. Seeding will be announced Friday.

“Tonight we played our best game of the season and won in all phases of the game,” East Liverpool coach Zack Kinsey said.

Ayden Payne had two goals and an assist for the Potters. Izaiha Browning added a goal and assist. Jacob Myers ahd a goal and Audun Barnhart had an assist.

Levin George had nine saves in goal for the Potters.

East Liverpool is at Indian Creek on Thursday.

Beaver Local 1, St. Clairsville 1

CALCUTTA–The Beaver Local girls soccer team battled St. Clairsville to a 1-1 draw Tuesday.

The Beavers are now 5-1-2 overall.

Riley Britt accounted for the lone Beaver goal when she tied the match on a penalty kick with 12 minutes left in the second half.

Haley Russell had six saves in goal.

The Beavers host Wheeling Park Thursday.

West Branch 7, Carrollton 1

BELOIT — Nico Maffei and Cohen Lamp had two goals each, while Vito Maffei and Justin Cederbloom had two assists each in a 7-1 win over Carrollton on Tuesday.

Avery Francis, Cole Miller and Luke Johnson also scored for the Warriors.

Josh Simmons and Johnson had assists.

Jared Butler had two saves in goal.

Asier Barretega had Carrollton’s goal.
