East Liverpool powers past Bears

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va.–The East Liverpool boys soccer team powered past Oak Glen 5-1 on saturday. Ayden Payne led the way for the Potters with two goals and an assist. Brennan O’Hara, Jacob Myers and Izaiha Browning each added one goal. Browning also had two assists.

Levie George had four saves in goal.

The Potters improve to 2-1- and host St. Clairsville Tuesday.

United 2, Champion 0

HANOVERTON–The United boys soccer team kept its unbeaten season going with a 2-0 shutout over Champion Saturday.

Dominic DiGiacomo and Kade Blake took care of the scoring for the Eagles (8-0), while Zach Jewell handled both of the assists.

Ethan McDevitt had three saves in goal. United is at Columbiana Monday for a battle for first in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference.

United 6, Badger 1

KINSMAN–The United girls soccer team overpowered Badger 6-1 on Saturday. Smantha Wolfe led the barrage for United with four goals. Morgan Briceland and Hannah Minor each had one goal.

Abigail Hruby, Kaitlyn Phillips, Brooke Courtney and Samantha Wolfe each had one assist. Madelynne Brieck had six saves in goal.

United hosts Columbiana Monday.

Jackson-Milton 2, Wellsville 1

WELLSVILLE–Jackson-Milton defeated Wellsville 2-1 in soccer action Saturday.

Jonathan Walker scored the lone goal for the Tigers. Casey Lemasters had the assist. Levi Boley had seven saves in goal.

Wellsville hosts Oak Glen Tuesday.

Howland 2, South Range 1

GREENFORD–The South Range boys soccer team suffered its first setback of the season with a 2-1 loss against Howland Saturday.

The Raiders fall to 6-1 overall. Howland improves to 8-0.

Luke McConnell scored the lone goal for South Range. Canaan Johnson had the assist. Matt Lucas had four saves in goal.

The Raiders host Jefferson Monday.
