Hutton leads Quaker girls vs. Branch

SALEM — Salem’s girls golf team earned its first win of the campaign by topping West Branch 223-240 on Wednesday at Salem Hills.

For Salem, Kelly Hutton led with a 41. Also for the Quakers, Lexi Miller had a 57, Paige Bailey 62 and Emma Brown 63.

For West Branch, Sydney Milliken had a 52, Sam Morris 59, Isabella Baird 63 and Lachlan Cameron 66.

Brookfield Invite

BROOKFIELD–The Beaver Local boys golf team finished seventh out of 20 teams Wednesday at the 17th annual Brookfield Invitational at Yankee Run Golf Course.

The Beavers were led by Luke Eyster, who shot an 80 to finish in a tie for eighth out of 120 players. Beaver Local finished with a team total of 354.

Massillon Perry took the team title with a 315 total. Brookfield’s Conner Stevens was the individual medalist with a 69.

The Columbiana boys golf team placed 12th with a totlal of 370. Leading the way for the Clippers was Tyler Anderson, who shot an 83 to finish in a tie for 15th.

Quakers win first

MINERVA–The Salem boys golf team edged Minerva 198-200 in Eastern Buckeye Conference action Wednesday at Great Trails Golf Course.

The Quakers improve to 1-2 overall and in the EBC. The Lions fall to 2-3, 1-3.

Leading the way for Salem was Dylan Ulrich and Lane Rhodes with a pair of 45s. Carter Reid followed with a 49. Nick Colbert added a 59.

For the Lions, Lucas Kimble and Andrew Gillis each shot 47 to lead the way. Case Wallace shot a 51, while Frank Common finished with a 55.

Beaver Local 214, Columbiana 244

EAST LIVERPOOL–The Beaver Local girls golf team defeated Columbiana 214-244 Wednesday at Turkana.

For the Beavers, Mckenna Kyler fired a 40, Brooke Briggs shot 47, Brooke Talbot 50 and Jaelynn Young 77.

For the Clippers (2-3) Jessica Himes shot a 50, Michaela Pinciaro 63, Mackenzie Coder 65, Katrina Patrick 66.

Columbiana hosts Ursuline Friday at Valley.

Crestview 182,

United 212

CALCUTTA — Crestview’s boys golf team topped United 182-212 on Wednesday at Beaver Creek Meadows.

For Crestview, Ethan McCloskey had a 39, A.J. Robb 42, Emily Hill 49 and Braden Urmson 52.

For United, Mikey Bardo shot a 42, Parker Berdine 49, Bryce McKenzie 56 and Noah Minor 65.

Crestview plays Beaver Local and Ursuline today at Beaver Creek Meadows.
