LISBON — The Lisbon softball team is off to a good start.

The Blue Devils scored 11 runs in the first inning and slugged United, 21-0, in five innings in Monday’s season opener.

Autumn Oehlstrom drove in four runs with a home run, triple and double and also scored four runs.

Katy Clark drove in six runs with a double and two singles and McKenna Dailey had four RBis with a double and two singles. Justyce Vrable added a double, a single, four runs and two RBIs. Kennedy Vrable and Taylor Deland each contributed two hits.

The Blue Devils had 18 hits and five walks in four innings as United threw 139 pitches.

Mya Emmerling struck out nine in tossing a one-hitter, allowing only a double by Kassidy Everhart.

The teams will play at United on Wednesday.

East Palestine 1

COLUMBIANA — Marissa Makosky’s two-run single with two outs in the bottom of the fifh inning lifted Columbiana over East Palestine, 3-1, in Monday’s season opener at Firestone Park.

Both teams scored runs in the first inning and the score stayed that way until Makosky delivered in the fifth.

Maci Linhart had two hits for the Clippers. Alyssa Tohm went the distance for the victory.

Kenzee Johnston had three hits and an RBI for the Bulldogs.

Columbiana will host Western Reserve today.

Leetonia 1

LEETONIA–The Southern softball team crushed Leetonia 20-1 in five innings Monday.

Sam Michael picked up the win for Southern.

The Indians are at Beaver Local at 5:30 p.m. today.

South Range 10, Lakeview 2

GREENFORD–The South Range softball team opened up the season by drilling Lakeview 10-2 in a Northeast 8 Athletic Conference game Monday.

The Raiders got a dominant performance on the mound from Bree Kohler, who struck out 15 and walked none en route to a complete game victory.

Kohler also clubbed a three-run homer and had five RBIs. Marlaina Slabach added two singles.

Cait Kelm had a solo homer for Lakeview.

The two teams meet again today at Lakeview.

CALCUTTA–The Beaver Local softball team fell to Indian Creek 14-1 in season-opening action Monday.

Tori Bowersock went 3-for-3 with a run scored for the Beavers. Elizabeth Kolkowski added two hits.

The Beavers host Southern today at 5:30 p.m.

SEBRING–Lordstown scored 16 runs in the first inning en route to a 17-0 victory over Sebring in softball action Monday.

Sebring is at Western Reserve Wednesday.

Oak Glen 4, Morgan County 0

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The Oak Glen softball team began its week-long trip in Myrtle Beach, S.C. with a bang.

Freshman Maddie McKay pitched her second no-hitter of the season, while striking out 16, in leading the Golden Bears to a 4-0 victory over Morgan County on Monday.

Alexa Andrews began the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning. She finished with three hits, including a triple and a pair of runs batted in. Hanna Patterson launched a solo home run in the fifth inning. Janaya Montgomery also had an RBI.

The Golden Bears will play again today.
