Dogs trick Clips

EAST PALESTINE — Josh Welch’s hat trick powered East Palestine to a 5-4 win over Columbiana on Monday.

Parker Wisser added two goals for the Bulldogs (4-2, 3-1) while Matt Garcia had 12 saves in goal.

Brandon Turcola and Brady Kridler had an assist each.

Columbiana’s Collin Schick and Noah Horne had two goals each. Gabe Heinrich had three assists. Michael Ginocchi also had an assist.

Chris Costanzo recorded eight saves for the Clippers.

East Palestine hosts Jackson-Milton today.

Salem 7, Springfield 1

SALEM — Salem’s girls soccer team is making it difficult for its opponents.

The Quakers ran their record to 8-0 with a 7-1 victory over Springfield Local on Monday at Reilly Stadium.

Salem has scored 44 goals this season while giving up only three.

Lydia McKee and Paige Bailey had a hat trick each. Abby Perry added the other goal. McKee, Haley Gaither and Ellie Davidson all had assists. Salem is at Marlingtin on Wednesday.

West Branch 1, Cardinal Mooney 1

YOUNGSTOWN — West Branch’s girls soccer team tied Cardinal Mooney 1-1 on Monday night.

West Branch, ranked 14th in the state coaches’ Div. II poll, is 5-0-2.

Olivia McLean had a goal on an assist from Elizabeth Ostadali for Branch.

Taylor Slagle had four saves in goal.

The Warriors host Carrollton on Wednesday.

Ursuline 5, United 0

YOUNGSTOWN — Ursuline defeated United, 5-0, in boys soccer action Saturday. After a scoreless first half Jacob Coman and Cam Forsyth each scored twice and Mario Ruano once for the Irish. Noah Brieck recorded six saves in goal for the Eagles.
