Blue Devils move to 8-4

LISBON — Lisbon rallied past Jackson-Milton for a 25-18, 20-25, 22-25, 25-16, 15-13 win Monday.

The Blue Devils improve to 8-4 on the season.

Corinne Freeman totaled 17 kills, seven blocks and seven points and Maddie Liberati 12 kills, six blocks and 10 points to lead the Blue Devils.

Ashley Cameron had 23 kills and 10 blocks for the Bluejays.

The Blue Devils also won the junior varsity match, 25-18, 25-22, as McKenna Dailey served six points.

Lisbon will host East Palestine today.

Minerva 3, United 2

HANOVERTON–The Minerva volleyball team picked up a 25-18, 25-21, 22-25, 23-25, 15-12 win over United Monday.

Shelby Wheeler had 14 kills, eight blocks and five points for the Lions (2-9).

For United (5-9) Rachel Bowen had 21 kills, an ace and two blocks. Savannah Burton contributed two aces, four blocks, eight kills, and three points, Tori Tschappatt added four aces, three kills and four points.

United is at Toronto today.

Southern 3, Weir 0

SALINEVILLE–The Southern volleyball team came up with a 25-16, 27-25 25-10 sweep over Weir Monday.

The Indians improve to 11-1 overall. Weir falls to 0-10.

For Southern, Hannah Hayes had 16 points, 14 assists and four kills, Riley Felton had 16 kills and two blocks, Maddie Paxson had 10 kills and six points and Alexis Rhodes added nine points.

Southern won the jayvee match 25-7, 23-25, 25-20.

Delainey Mellott led the Indians with 24 points and three kills. Marisa Stewart added 13 points.

Southern returns to Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference action today at Columbiana.

Beaver 3, Edison 0

CALCUTTA–The Beaver Local volleyball team took down Edison 25-17, 25-15, 25-11 Monday.

For the Beavers, Hannah Call collected 18 points, 12 digs and five aces, while Madison Kendall dished out 14 assists and contributed six points.

Also for the Beavers, Madison Smith had a solid all-around game with seven points, five kills and six blocks. Elaina Howell added eight assists and three aces. Karlee Furman chipped in six digs, five kills and two aces. Linzie Galeoti had five digs, while Abby Jackson had four kills and two blocks.

The Beaver Local jv team won 25-17, 25-20.

For the Beavers, Grace Hill had seven kills. Alannah Boyd had 11 assists. Emma Roberts had four kills, three aces and 13 points. Brooke Schwerha had six assists. Eli Kolkowski added six points.

Beaver Local won the freshman match 25-20, 25-18. Leading the way for the Beavers was Leah Riccardo with 10 points. Bailey Bowersock added seven points.

East Liverpool 3,

Buckeye Local 0

RAYLAND–The East Liverpool volleyball team made quick work of Buckeye Local Monday, winning in three sets 25-13, 25-10, 25-6.

The Potters run their record to 10-1 overall.

Skye Stokes led the way with 12 kills, nine aces and seven assists, while Emma Ludwig provided eight kills.

Also for the Potters, Terran Stacey had 18 assists, two blocks and two kills, Naudia Williams had four kills and Sharnae Wilson had three kills and two blocks.

East Liverpool won the jv match 25-17, 25-12. Jessica Mackey had four kills and two blocks. Jetta Fitch, Sydney Cooper and Gabbi George each had two kills.

East Liverpool hosts Austintown Fitch Wednesday.

Cardinal Mooney 3, South Range 2

GREENFORD–Cardinal Mooney beat South Range 25-23, 23-25, 25-18, 23-25, 15-7 in volleyball action Monday.

For the Raiders, Anna Primavera had 16 kills, 13 digs, eight blocks and five aces, while Drew Feren had 17 kills, 20 assists and six aces. Emily Irons added seven kills, 15 assists, 14 digs and two aces.

Springfield 3, Poland 0

POLAND–The Springfield volleyball team pounded Poland 25-11, 25-18, 25-14 Monday.

Kaelen Yemma had a big night for the Tigers with 13 points, 33 assists and five aces.

Jennie Stitzel added 12 kills, while Ellie Centofanti added 15 points and Makenzy Cappouellez had 27 digs.

Lyndsey Smith and Mariah Johnson had nine and seven kills respectively.

Springfield won the jv match 25-15, 25-23.

The Tigers are at Sebring Thursday.
