Beaver shows true Britt

CALCUTTA–The Beaver Local girls soccer team rolled past Springfield 9-1 Thursday.

Riley Britt racked up five goals to lead the Beavers, while her sister Jensen Britt added two goals. Madison Cline and Selena Rogers each had one goal.

Dani Taylor dished out three assists, while Madison Ours had two assists. Madeline Smith and Jenna Riccardo each had one assist.

Jackie Francis had five saves in goal for the Beavers, while Abbie Maharick had two saves.

The Beavers are now 3-1 overall and host East Liverpool at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Beaver Local 7,

Union Local 0

BELMONT–Beaver Local blanked Union Local 7-0 in boys soccer action Thursday.

Leading the charge for the Beavers (2-1) were Chase Flati and Alex Miller, who each had two goals and one assist.

Alex Burgess, Logan Winland and Josh Williams all added one goal for Beaver Local. Winland, Kaden McKenzie and Braxton Wright all had one assist.

Austin McCoy had four saves in goal, while Jake Sinsley had two saves.

The Beavers host East Liverpool Saturday in the back end of a girl-boy doubleheader. The girls match starts at 11 a.m., with the boys match following at 1 p.m.

Crestview 2,

Champion 1

COLUMBIANA–The Crestview boys soccer team defeated Champion 2-1 on Thursday.

The Rebels are now 4-1 overall.

Freshmen brothers Colt and Cutter Crane each had one goal for the Rebels. Matt Jennings and Tanner Daub each finished with one assist.

Carter Blakeman had three saves in goal.

Crestview hosts Campbell Tuesday.

United 11, Waterloo 2

ATWATER — United’s girls soccer team scored an 11-2 win over Waterloo on Thursday.

Loren Swords and Sam Wolfe both had hat tricks for the Eagles.

Morgan Briceland had two goals, while Kendyl Daggy, Celeste Hoffmeister and Abilgail Hruby had one each.

Swords and Daggy had two assists each. Briceland, Wolfe and Brooke Courtney each had an assist.

United plays at Maplewood on Tuesday.

Columbiana 2, Maplewood 2

COLUMBIANA–The Columbiana girls soccer team tied Maplewood 2-2 Thursday.

Allison Kyle and Grace Hammond each scored goals for the Clippers. Klara Crisp added one assist. Autumn Chuey added four saves in goal.

The Clippers host Springfield next Thursday.

South Range 5, Niles 0

NILES — South Range’s boys soccer team blanked Niles 5-0 on Thursday.

South Range is 3-0.

Logan Baer and Canaan Johnson had two goals each for the Raiders. Luke Stoeber added another.

Logan Weaver, Johnson and Camden Thomas had assists.

Matt Lucas had eight saves in goal.

South Range is at Hubbard on Tuesday.

Indian Creek 5, East Liverpool 1

WINTERSVILLE — Indian Creek’s boys soccer team bested East Liverpool 5-1 on Thursday.

East Liverpool (2-1) is at Beaver Local on Saturday afternoon.

Oak Glen 7, Wellsville 0

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va.–The Oak Glen boys soccer team cruised by Wellsville 7-0 Thursday.

The Golden Bears got one goal each from Gage Bailey, Seth Mozingo, Lucas Harris, Matt Wright, Dan Dwoskin, Kade Koper and Nathan Atkinson.

Mozingo added two assists, while Wright and Andrew Snyder each had one. Oak Glen keeper Jacob Clark had four saves in goal. Evan Logston added three saves.

Jonathan DeJane had 25 saves in goal for the Tigers.

West Branch 2, Ravenna 2

RAVENNA — West Branch got goals from Ian Yarwood and Luke Johnson in a 2-2 tie against Ravenna on Thursday.

Jarod Butler had six saves for the Warriors.

Salem 7, Carrollon 1

SALEM — Salem’s girls soccer team moved to 5-0 with a 7-1 win over Carrollton on Wednesday night.

Paige Bailey had a hat trick while Ellie Davidson, Abby Perry and Lydia McKee scored for the Quakers.

Salem hosts Canton South on Wednesday.

Hubbard 4, Salem 0

SALEM — Hubbard bested Salem 4-0 in boys soccer action on Thursday. Salem is 3-2 and is at Canton South on Tuesday.
