BELOIT - The North Georgetown Fire Department is investigating a fire at a Westville Lake area business during Wednesday night's thunderstorm.
According to Fire Chief Ed Reichenbach, firefighters responded to Alliance Technical Services at 27171 U.S. Route 62 just east of the Westville Lake Road intersection at 10 p.m. after a motorist reported flames through the roof and heavy smoke and then the department received an alarm drop.
Reichenbach said no foul play is suspected, and although the cause is still undetermined, lightning may have played a part. The state fire marshal's office has not been called in, he noted.

Firefighters battle a blaze at Alliance Technical Services on U.S. Route 62 near Beloit.
Traffic was diverted for several hours while firefighters from North Georgetown worked the fire with the assistance of Beloit, Damascus, Homeworth and Sebring fire departments and Goshen Township, Smith Township and Sebring police departments. The scene cleared at around 1 a.m.
The building was unoccupied at the time of the fire. The worst fire damage appeared to be in the roof and upper floors of the office.
The technical personnel business was owned by the late Jerry Klusch of Center Township and is currently owned by the Klusch family and operated by his son, Ryan Klusch of Canton. The business is insured.
Klusch, who said it has been a really difficult couple of years, was thankful no one was in the office at the time of the fire. All records on the computers are backed up and what can be salvaged will be moved to their other location Klusch said. They are still open for business.
