LISBON - A second man wanted in connection with a car theft was apprehended in New Philadelphia over the weekend.

George?E. Faulkner Jr., 26, of state?Route 14, East Palestine, on Monday appeared in Columbiana County Municipal Court, where a July 1 preliminary hearing was set.

Bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety.

Faulkner and his brother Matt are charged with taking a vehicle which was for sale for a test drive and not returning it on June 12.

The vehicle, a 1996 Pontiac Firebird, was reportedly taken from the 7 and 14 Truck Stop in Columbiana on June 12, where the owner, Dalton Lappert, had agreed to meet the Faulkners so they could look at the vehicle he was selling.

Pennsylvania police with the assistance of a tip later located the vehicle on Anderson Road in Enon Valley, Pa. with the brothers nowhere to be found.

While Matt Faulkner, turned himself in at the Columbiana police station the following Monday, George Faulkner Jr., was believed to have run. A warrant was issued.

Faulkner was found by New Philadelphia police sometime over the weekend. The department little more than an hour away from Columbiana was on the lookout after Columbiana police alerted them of the warrant for his arrest.

City police served the warrant to him at the Tuscarawas County sheriff's office at 1 a.m. Saturday Detective Wade Boley said.

Boley wished to thank the New Philadelphia department for being "attentive and actively looking for him on our warrant."

Matt Faulkner, 21, state Route 14, East Palestine, appeared last week on a similar theft charge in Municipal Court. He has since posted a $10,000 surety bond and his preliminary hearing is set for Thursday.
