Clarence Householder

EAST PALESTINE - Clarence V. "Buzz" Householder, 85, of East Main Street, passed away peacefully at 1:13 a.m. Sunday, April 7, 2013 at his home.

Mr. Householder was born June 14, 1927 in Beaver Falls, Pa., a son of the late Clarence L. and Olive (Shaffer) Householder; and had lived in East Palestine since 2005, coming from Florida, and previously Chippewa, Pa.

Buzz along with his brother, Zeke, owned and operated Householder Trucking Company. He also worked at Babcock and Wilcox and Roberts Oil Company.

Mr. Householder was also a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army.

He was also a member of Chapel PCA Church in Brighton Tpwnship; Beaver Masonic Lodge; and was a former member of Chippewa Lions Club.

Buzz is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Ruth S. (Landsberger) Householder, whom he married Oct. 2, 1954; four devoted children and their spouses, Thomas (Gail) Householder, Keith V. Householder, Jeri (John) Carver, and Patti (Bud) Vollmer; sister, Esther Stanyard, sister-in-law, Dorothy Landsberger; nine wonderful grandchildren and their spouses, David (Allison) Householder, Christy (Dennis) Ross, Carrie A. Householder, Emily (Dale) Androlia, Joshua K. Householder, Patrick (Andreea) Carver, Stacy (Joel) Sanders, Justin (Tiffany) Vollmer, and Jami Vollmer; and 10 adorable great-grandchildren and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Buzz was preceded in death by his two brothers, Kenneth L. and Franklin G. Householder; sisters, Stella Childers, Helen Young, and Katherine Deloe; and brother-in-law, August J. Landsberger, Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 13 at Chapel PCA of Brighton Township, 625 Barclay Hill Rd, Beaver, Pa., 15009, with Pastor Steven Maker of the church officiating.

Following Buzz's wishes, no calling hours will be observed.

The family would like to thank Dr. Flores and his staff and Dr. Rodrigues and the staff at Trinity for the wonderful care they gave Buzz.
