East Liverpool 71, Brooke 61

WELLSBURG, W.Va. - Nikayla Edgell netted 26 points and added seven assists and six steals to lead East Liverpool past Brooke 71-61 on Thursday night. Kiara Cowert added a double double in the win for the Potters (9-12) netting 18 points and pullind down 10 rebounds.

Mary Davis also contributed nine points while Raenna Holmes added eight points. Jaime Neville rounded out the scoring for the Potters with six points.

East Liverpool also won the jayvee game 44-26. Ronnie Bailey led the Potters with 12 points. Linsey Rose added nine points.

Austintown Fitch 73, Beaver Local 26

AUSTINTOWN - Beaver Local fell to Austintown 73-26 on the road Thursday night. Courtney Ricciardi led the Beavers (3-18) with 10 points. Sierra Wright added seven points for Beaver Local. Danna Talbot contributed three points and Jade Favre, Maranda Kiddey and Samantha Kendall each added two points.

Austintown also won the jayvee game 35-22. Samanthan Kendall paced the Beavers with 11 points.

The Beavers are back in action on Monday when they travel to East Palestine.

Wellsville 55, McDonald 46

WELLSVILLE - Shartece Taylor had 17 points, five rebounds and four assists as Wellsville tallied a 55-46 win over McDonald on Thursday in an ITCL lower tier battle.

Brittany Clendenning added 13 points and seven boards, while Amanda Coles had 12 rebounds and six steals. Angelica Scarabino also broke into double-figures with 11 points and Kallee' Powell had 10 points.

McDonald fell to 1-16, 1-13.

Wellsville won the jayvee game, 40-20. Rasheeda Kalam had 14 points for the Tigers.

Wellsville is at Heartland on Monday.

Southern 35, Sebring 32

SEBRING - Southern improved to 7-7 in the ITCL and 10-11 overall with a 35-32 win over Sebring on Thursday.

The Indians led 21-15 at the half, but were outscored 11-1 in the third, giving the Trojans a 26-22 lead. Southern outscored Sebring 13-6 in the fourth to reclaim the lead and take the win.

Katy Hipsley led the Indians with 20 points and six steals. Brittany Webber grabbed eight rebounds and Rachael Coil had three assists.

For Sebring, Kelsi Settle had nine points, Murphy Flowers scored eight and Sydney Smith added seven.

On Monday, Southern travels to American Spirit Academy and Sebring visits Lisbon.

Oak Glen 43, Union Local 41

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. - The Oak Glen girls basketball team redeemed itself with a hard-fought 43-41 win on Thursday over visiting Union Local in the OVAC Class 4A consolation game.

On Monday, the Bears dropped a 53-39 decision against Steubenville in an OVAC tournament opener.

Oak Glen fell behind early, 10-8, after one quarter of play, but rebounded to take the lead in the second quarter and never looked back.

The win moves the Bears to 10-8 on the season.

Vanessa Hissam paced Oak Glen with 15 points and 13 rebounds.

Jessica Stivason and Alex Arnott both finished with nine points.

For Union Local, Cori Medley led with 17 points.

The Bears will return to action on Monday at Brooke.
