Golden year for Salem couple

SALEM - Robert "Bob" and Peggy Kornbau, Franklin Street, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 29 with their family.

The former Peggy Sell, daughter of the late Calvin and Margaret (Faloon) Sell, married Bob Kornbau, son the Hazel Boop, Girard; and the late Joseph Kornbau, on Dec. 29, 1962 at the Salem First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Williams Longsworth officiated the ceremony.

Mr. Kornbau served in the U.S. Army and was employed by Crane Deming Co. for 38 years, retiring in 2005. He is currently employed as school patrol for the city of Salem.

Mrs. Kornbau worked for Essex of Salem I for 31 years, retiring in 2012.

They have three children, Tammy (Kevin) Hull, Leetonia; Steve Kornbau, Beloit; and Kris (Crystal) Kornbau, Salem; and eight grandchildren.
