LISBON -The Golden Eagles soared past the Blue Devils.

Emily Zehentbauer and Sam Spitler scored in double digits to lift the United girls' basketball team to a 52-38 victory Thursday night at Lisbon.

Zehentbauer recorded 16 points and Spitler tallied 10 points to lead the way for the victors,

Also, Mackenzie Gatchel and Courtney Hyridck each contributed eight points for United.

Tiffany Ketchum contributed a team-high 16 points to lead the way for the Blue Devils (2-2, 0-1).

Also for Lisbon, Pam Pierce recorded nine points, Katy Crismon netted seven points and Paige Bennett collected four points.

Finally, Jenna Dickson delivered two points.

United won the JV game, 49-24.

Kenzie Firth contributed 5 points for the Golden Eagles, while Sarah Boyd delivered 3 for the Blue Devils.

Lisbon's next game is Monday at home against Mineral Ridge, while United plays at East Palestine.

Wellsville 56, Sebring 40

SEBRING - The Tigers topped the Trojans.

Brittany Clendenning delivered 14 points and five rebounds to lead the Wellsville girls' basketball team to a 56-40 victory Thursday night at Sebring.

Also for the Tigers (2-2), Sabrina Thompson netted 10 points and seven assists, Amanda Coles contributed eight points and Kallee Powell produced seven points, five rebounds and five assists.

Next, Shartece Taylor recorded six points and three steals, Destiny Crow and Brittany Caldwell each collected four points and Monica Wilson ended up with two points.

Finally, Angelica Scarabino added one point.

Kelsi Settle tallied a game-high 22 points to lead the way for the Trojans, and Murphy Flowers finished with 10 points.

There was no JV game.

Both teams play Monday at home. Wellsville plays local-rival Southern Local, while Sebring plays Columbiana.

CALCUTTA - Allie Pavlik contributed a game-high 34 points leading the Lakeview girls' basketball team to a 75-28 victory Thursday night over Beaver Local at the Beaver Dome.

With the loss, the Beavers drop to 1-3 on the season.

For Beaver Local, Danna Talbott tallied a team-high seven points, Tannar Dolhun netted four points and Haileigh Ketchum, Samantha Bishop, Maranda Kiddey and Ravenna Cianni all collected three points.

Also, Courtney Ricciardi and Allison Kennedy each delivered two points, and Kennedy Rotellini finished with one point.

Lakeview led 28-3 after the first quarter and 50-9 at halftime.

Lakeview won the JV game, 46-36.

Jade Favre recorded 17 points for the Beavers.

Beaver Local's next game is Monday at local-rival East Liverpool.

NEW MIDDLETOWN - The Tigers ran away from the Bulldogs.

Callie Ford delivered a game-high 18 points leading the Springfield girls' basketball team to a 67-42 victory Thursday night over visiting East Palestine.

Also for the Tigers (1-2), Baylee Felger recorded 16 points, Jillian Tabaka tallied 10 points and Emily Stacy collected nine points.

For the Bulldogs (1-2), Brooke Gedeon netted a team-high 15 points to lead the way.

Also, Haley Hall tallied seven points, Logan Gatchel collected five points and Courtney Webber recorded four points.

Next, Carson Rutledge delivered three points, and Marisa Gorby, Kelsey McKim, Hannah Hall and Braxton Feezle all finished with two points.

Springfield won the JV game, 24-21.

Madison Bender recorded eight points to lead the way for Springfield, while Haley Hall and Weber each contributed four points for East Palestine.

Springfield's next game is Monday at home against South Range, while East Palestine plays hosts to United.

The Union Local girls' basketball team scored 20 points in the second and fourth quarters en route to a 52-31 victory Thursday night at Edison.

With the loss, the Wildcats drop to 0-4 on the season.

Katelyn Pollock netted a team-high 15 points to lead the way for Edison.

Also, Molly McCoy collected six points, and Madisen Hunter, Meghan Scott, Abby Fonow, Lynsey Morrison and Martina Jolly all tallied two points.

Mikayla Patton netted a game-high 20 points to lead the Jets while Cori Medley delivered 11 points, and Kayla Doty tallied 10.

Edison's next game is Monday at St. Clairsville.

Finally, Natalie Utt tallied two points.

Alyssa Stieb scored a team-high 11 points to lead the way for the Blue Devils.

Southern won the JV game, 20-19.

Utt collected six points to lead the way.

Southern's next game is Monday at local-rival Wellsville.

Beavers sweep Blue Wave

FOLLANSBEE - The Beaver Local 7th and 8th grade girls' basketball teams recorded wins Wednesday night at Follansbee.

The Beavers won the 7th grade game, 25-11.

Kierra Taylor and Alex Scwerha led Beaver Local in scoring.

Beaver Local won the 8th grade game, 16-8.

Hannah Fishback and Dakota Heston led the way for the Beavers.

With the wins, both teams are now 2-0 on the season.
