LITTLE RIVER, S.C. - Howard L. Moore, 89, died peacefully at his home in Little River, S.C., on Thursday, October 4, 2012.
Born on April 24, 1923, in East Palestine, Ohio, he was the son of the late Raymond F. Moore and Mary Elizabeth Lehr Moore.
Mr. Moore served in World War II as a navigator in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was comptroller of Aetna Standard Engineering Co. in Ellwood City, Pa. At the time of his death he was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Myrtle Beach and VFW Post 10840.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Mary Ann Hixenbaugh Moore of Little River, and two sons, Daniel L. Moore and Christopher H. Moore. He is predeceased by his first wife and mother of his son Daniel, Mary Elizabeth Widdowfield Moore, and by his sister, Frances Louise Moore Cope.
A memorial service will be held at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory at 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 9, 2012. Inurnment will follow at North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Lewis Johnson will preside.
