Hey, Jason.

They usually only pull them after someone writes something really disgusting.

Most likely someone was offended. So read this: Merry Christmas!

Anyone know why the 'like most about Christmas' poll got taken down?

rumors got your county recorder defeated and now the new one is trying to hire a person that can do the job while she collects the pay as the employees quit. If you can direct the public opinion in either direction, power is achieved. Corruption is easily projected, if you decide you will go along with them.

Funny...people can't "control" the conversation on here...unlike chamber of commerce and village council. So when the remarks "hit home" the ones approving all this garbage get called out...and they don't like it! Jason...keep on keepin on!

JimboBrowntown:

Why should I comment on your question?

I will comment with this: are you so blind as not to see? Are you so deaf as not to hear?

Cruiser: Skeptical of the comment? It would not surprise me if it was actually a valid comment by Boxer. I hear of many shady things from your local people. The minutes from the meeting should alleviate any further question.

Jason, boxers post with the word allegedly makes me believe that's a rumor and not a fact.

Not much on here is rumor, most comments if not all, are verifiable in the meeting minutes. Sad, but you folks have some hokey pokey going on in your town.

This is sad, we need business and manufacturing and time is being spent on stuff like this. Agree with Jason on the EMT's.

Just like clockwork. We can always count on people to spew all this negativity for all the world to see about EP. No wonder this town is becoming a joke. Whenever there is a news article about this town I can always count on you people to drag it down.

Let's get somebody to run this village that has it's best interest at heart...who wants to do good...not the crooks we have now.

Ashamed to be a resident of EP. And we though getting a new village manager would be good for the community! Mr Elzer...go crawl under a rock where you belong and take that wife of yours with you! Let's get SOMEBODY

It will be interesting what council members condone this activity and which ones will oppose this conduct. It is most apparent two people and a manager are acting in the interest of personal gain(agenda), not the interest of the public. Privacy invasion is a serious accusation and if proven, could remove the individuals from public office. As this activity is extremely questionable, current public services, such as EMS, need proper funding in order to alleviate need for mutual aid requests. Funding of that issue should be top priority, not fees or registration of property and business!

I heard the village manager allegedly used village money to buy a special CD from the county that contained very detailed information on every single property owner and piece of real estate in EP. As soon as he got it he turned the CD over to Mrs. Elzer for her own personal use. The manager said this publicly. If this is not an illegal use of village money, it is at least an unethical, inappropriate use of our money and property, to spend our tax dollars to buy something that is supposed to be for village use only and then give it to a private citizen. Heaven only knows what she will do with that CD. That detailed information, gathered in that manner, could be sold to every online marketer out there, exposing every EP citizen to who knows what. Is this an invasion of our privacy? A violation of our rights? Misapproproation of public funds? I think this is a very serious matter that should be investigated by the authorities.

Boxer, was not someone related given a county issued CD containing the properties inside the corporate limits due to being appointed to the zoning board? If this is proven true, resignation of the parties involved should be demanded immediately. Although, that information is public, it should never have been given out in the media it was on, as that format was for municipal use. You're statement of "control" is an adequate observation of the current situation and should be addressed next meeting.

OMG! Here we go again. Elzer was completely shut down on this before, but this guy is like gum on the bottom of a shoe, a bad idea you just can't get rid of. He's so small-minded all he can do is re-cycle the same stupid ideas. He wants us to believe that businesses actually WANT to be regulated. What a bunch of socialist garbage. This guy calls himself a conservative, but this idea, and all his others, involve more government control, not the diminished control that conservatives back. This guy is a liberal passing as a conservative Republican to con everyone into being controlled by him, his Chamber, and the EP government. This is the same guy that wants every property owner in town to sign over his land to village hall for the gas rights. Control, control, control. Don't buy into his Big Brother business-licensing idea. It's not legal and sure is not the American way.

"Mostly Elzer is concerned with new commercial operations and said he has spoken with business owners who were "shocked" to learn they were not required to notify anyone they were in town."

What new commercial operations?

"He said businesses must be approved before operating in other areas, like Columbiana."

Interesting comment, as the above statement contradicts the statement "we aren't Columbiana" when asked about growth!

All the tax department has to do is ask the post office for a current list of residents and business in the village. Which leads back to the "chumps" RITA who are paid to conduct the same survey of residents.
