Philomena R. Foley

EAST PALESTINE — Philomena R. Foley, 94, passed away April 13, 2023 at the Hospice House in Poland.

Philomena was born July 6, 1928, in Johnstown, Pa., daughter of the late Nicholas and Philomena White Steiner.

She was a graduate of Beaver Falls, Pa., and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Philomena had previously worked at W.S. George Pottery, as well as in the East Palestine High School Cafeteria. She also worked as a cosmetologist at a studio at her home. When not working, Philomena enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting and loved playing bingo.

Philomena is survived by two sons, Thomas (Eileen) Foley of East Palestine and Roy W. “Petie” Foley of Calcutta; two daughters, Debbie (William) Lewis of East Palestine and Karen (Dave) Davis of Ashtabula, Ohio; six grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, a brother as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Roy “Pete” Foley, Jr. in 2013, two grandchildren, Brian Patrone and Valerie Boston, two brothers and one sister.

The family will receive friends Tuesday April 18, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in East Palestine. A burial will follow at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford.
