James H. Huston

1936-2023

NEGLEY — James H. Huston, 87, a lifelong resident of the area, passed away April 15, 2023 at Heritage Beaver Valley Medical Center.

Jim was born January 10, 1936 in Youngstown, Ohio, son of the late Bert and Pauline Finch Huston.

He was a 1953 graduate of New Waterford High School and a proud veteran of the US Army. Jim was employed at Crucible Steel until its closing in 1981. He then went on to work as a school bus driver for Beaver Local Schools and later operated a shuttle bus for Mountaineer Casino, but his greatest love was farming his family’s century farm in Negley. He was a member of the Fredericktown Christian Church and the Negley Masonic Lodge.

Jim is survived by his wife of 64 years, Kay Hill Huston; three daughters, Danna (Kevin) Frazier, Lorie (Dave) McCoy and Lynn (Dave) Mays all of East Liverpool; daughter-in-law, Bobbie Huston of Negley; 11 grandchildren, Kevin S. Frazier, Christopher (Traci) Frazier, Shelbie McCoy, Justin (Courtney) McCoy, Drew (Rachael) McCoy, Austin McCoy, Joseph (Amber) Langdon, Shannon (Kyle McCloud) Langdon, Josalyn (Shaun) Crookston, Jake (Kennedy) Huston and Rylie Huston; 10 great-grandchildren, Kayli, Henry, Tyler, Carmen, Lincoln, Paetyn, Braelyn, Zoey, Addison and Jameson as well as a brother, Don (Lynda) Huston and a sister, Jeanne Rumburg.

He was preceded in death by his son, James Huston in 2020, a granddaughter, Amber Frazier and a great-grandson, Colton James Huston.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening April 19, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Fredericktown Christian Church 12891 Jackson St, East Liverpool, OH 43920 with Pastor Mark Blakeley and Pastor Jim Equals officiating. A private burial will follow at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford.
