Stephen Lynn Bledsoe

Stephen Lynn Bledsoe, 76, of Salem, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021, at his home.

He was born on June 18, 1944, in Huntington, W. Virginia, to his parents; the late Hawkins and Opal (Fellure) Bledsoe.

He married Molly (Hamilton) on July 12, 1969, sharing 44 years making a wonderful life together until her passing in 2014. Stephen was a proud member of the United States Army where he served 2 terms in Vietnam. He was an employee of General Motors from the time that the plant opened until his retirement in 1999, after more than 32 years of employment. His main responsibility was loading the new cars onto the trains. Stephen liked to watch the nightly news to keep up with all that was going on in the world. He was a fan of old-style country music. He was an outdoorsman a heart. Fishing and hiking were Stephen’s most enjoyable activities. Back in the day, Stephen enjoyed driving around with his brothers and seeing where the back roads would take them. Stephen had a wonderful sense of humor and a big heart that went along with it.

Stephen is survived by his son; Stephen (Crystal) Bledsoe of Alabama, 4 grandchildren; Morgan and Taylor Bledsoe, Vivien Murphy, Henry Hood, brothers; John (Karen) Bledsoe of Charleston, W. Virginia, David (Trujean) Bledsoe and Jim (Karen) Bledsoe both of Fairmont, W. Virginia.

In addition to his wife and parents, Stephen is preceded in death by a grandson; Ralph Murphy, who passed away in 2016.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at 1 PM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services (1617 E. State Street, Salem, Oh. 44460). A time of visitation will be on Friday from 6-8 PM and Saturday from noon to 1 PM. The Salem Honor Guard will render military honors at the beginning of the services on Saturday.

Stephen will be laid to rest on Monday, April 12, 2021, at St. Joseph Cemetery (4500 Foley Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45238)
