David L. Beachler Jr.

EAST PALESTINE –David L. Beachler Jr., 71, passed away peacefully at home Friday Jan. 15, 2021 after being diagnosed with cancer on Wednesday.

David was born November 6, 1949 in Warren, OH, son of the late David and Mary Ladd Beachler.

He was a veteran of the US Navy and served a number of years both in active duty as well as the Navy Reserves. He served as the Commander of the American Legion Post 31 in East Palestine. David was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in East Palestine. Prior to retirement, Dave was employed with the Ohio Edison Plant in East Palestine and previously the Bruce Mansfield Penn Power Plant, Shipping Port. Since retirement he worked on small gas engines and enjoyed working on family and friends’ engines whenever they needed him. His greatest love was spending time with his family, going to the fair and spoiling his nephews, nieces, and great nephews any time he was able.

Dave is survived by his wife of 44 years, Priscilla “Sue” Beachler; his eight siblings, Doris Shaw, Raymond Beachler, Donald Beachler, William (Pamela) Beachler, Janet Wilde, James (Grace) Beachler, Carol (Thomas) Busser; Kenneth Beachler. Also surviving are many his nieces and nephews, including two he thought of like his grandchildren; Joshua Perenovich and Nicholas (Taylor) Osman and his great nephews, Lucas, Gabriel and Alexander.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Tuesday at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine as well as one hour prior to the funeral service. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Barry Walker officiating with military honors will follow. A private burial will follow at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford.
