Betty Lou Taucher-Carr
Betty Lou Taucher-Carr a resident of Fort Pierce, Florida died on July 24, 2020 at the age of 86.
Betty is survived by one son, David/Kim Taucher and three daughters, Cheryl/Steven Sims, Audrey Taucher, and Beverly/(dec)Donald Gravley, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister Evalyn/Barney Hauserman and two brothers Curtis/Nancy Thompson and Bill/Theresa Thompson and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by husbands Joe Taucher and Harry Carr and many other relatives too countless to mention.
Betty was born in Rock Camp, Ohio on October 11, 1933 to the late Dorotha (Dyke) and Curtis Thompson. Betty married Joe Taucher on April 21st, 1956 at the Methodist Church in East Palestine, Ohio. They had 4 children and enjoyed 44 years together. Betty always had a strong commitment with her church and community no matter where she resided. Betty had been a resident of Florida for 18 years. One of her accomplishments was graduating from Columbus State Community College in Columbus, Ohio, with a degree in social work and spending most of her career as an Early Childhood Intervention Specialist.
Betty was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. Betty along with her husband Joe were deeply involved with the Boy and Girl Scouts of America for over 40 years. Betty touched and influenced countless adults, children, family and friends with her kind heart and spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A funeral service is scheduled for 4:00 pm on Saturday August 1st at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 49255 Pancake-Clarkson Rd., Rodgers, OH 44455. The Reverend James Rhodes will officiate.
