Alice Muir

Alice Kathryn (Conley) Muir 78, of Salem, died at 5:25 AM Saturday, May 23, 2020, at Copeland Oaks/Crandall Medical Center.

She was born on November 11, 1941, in Monroe, MI., daughter of the late William Joseph and Oly Mae (Ewing) Conley.

Alice was a very active and busy person her whole life. The mere fact of being a pastors wife adds many things to your daily routine. She and her husband came to the Salem area 25 years ago from Titusville, PA. It really did not matter what church they were pastoring, she was involved in the church. She was a Sunday School teacher, church secretary, played the piano and organ, held Bible Studies. She and her father would often sing specials in the Titusville Church. Alice was also active here in the Salem area at the Allegheny Wesleyan College. She assisted in the kitchen of the college and the Connection office. Alice was focused on being in God’s will and mentored many of the young students at the college. Her love of God and desire to help people could easily be seen when she worked at the Salem Wendy’s Restaurant. She could bring a beam of sunlight to someone in need and show how God can help them. They had been active in the Allegheny Wesleyan Church and most currently been attending the Salem Bible Methodist Church. She was a Titusville (PA) High School Graduate.

Alice loved her family and spoiling her grandchildren. Her home was an example of what she loved. You could see her beautiful flower beds, floral arrangements in the house. Their home was hardly ever without a dog or cat around.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Troy Stuart Muir, whom she married on June 6, 1962, two children, Daryl Eugene (Marilyn) Muir of Cincinnati and Crystal May (Troy) Whitham of Salem, siblings, William Joseph (Sharon) Conley of NC., Marilyn Ruth (Richard) Beers of TN., Janice Marie (Chalmers) Douglas of PA., and Marcelyn Sue (Donald) Fuller of PA., four grandchildren; Shane (Renee), Brennan (Ivon), and Dustin (Kendra) Muir and Ashley (Nathan) Fall, seven great-grandchildren; Kallie, Peter, Brennan, Dayton, Erik, Jared, and Lucy Muir.

Services will be held on Friday, 11 AM at the Salem Bible Methodist Church. Pastor David W. Crosley will be officiating the services. A time of visitation will be on Thursday from 5-7 pm at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services and one hour prior to the services at the church. The burial will follow at Woodsdale Cemetery.

Due to the Covid-19 virus, visitors are asked to follow the rules that have been established for distancing and physical contact.
