Iva June Shultz Dailey

Dailey

EAST LIVERPOOL –Iva June Shultz Dailey, (Grandma Junie), passed away peacefully with her daughter, Diana Aldridge and her adopted daughter, Vicky Bowers at her side, as they have been throughout her four-year battle with Alzheimer’s. She died at Continuing Health Care in Lisbon where she had been a patient for three weeks. Iva June was being cared for by Crossroads Hospice.

85 years old, she was born in St. Mary’s, West Virginia to the late Maywood and Helen Kidder Shultz.

Iva June moved to East Liverpool in the late 1940s. In the late 1960s, she worked at the former Super 30 Drive-In. In 1973 she began working at the 7 & 30 Superette, from which she retired in 2005. When she worked at the 7 & 30 Superette, every kid that came into the store became her special grandchild, whom she loved as her own. She was a lady with a sweet smile that always lit up the room, and she was known as the type of person that would give you the shirt off her back. Also, she was a member of the Madison Trinity Church in West Point where she was active in the Bible Study Class.

Iva June leaves behind her husband, Wayne; her daughter, Diana Aldridge and her husband Harry of Calcutta, two granddaughters, Makinsy (Justin) Carroll of Calcutta, and Chandler Aldridge of Alliance; and a special daughter, Vickie Bowers and her husband, Charlie of Lisbon. Several nieces and nephews survive as well.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, James, and Walter Shultz, and one sister, Elizabeth Hooper.

In fulfilling Iva June’s wishes, no services are planned at this time. A celebration of life service will be planned when the current health crises subside.

Interment will take place at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell. The Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester is assisting the family with these arrangements.

Her family would like to thank Continuing Health Care and their staff and Crossroads Hospice for the loving, compassionate care shown to her during the final chapter of her life, “you guys rocked”.
