James Cunningham

EAST LIVERPOOL — James Thomas “Jim” Cunningham, 87, a longtime resident of Ohio Avenue, died at 10:43 p.m. July 18 at Calcutta Health Care Center following a lingering illness.

The son of the late Perry and Ada Belle Jackson Cunningham, he was born in East Liverpool on April 26, 1930.

He worked for more than 37 years as a street service man at Columbia Gas of Ohio, and had been a member of Boyce Methodist Church.

Survivors include his children, Lisa Jeanne Reneau of Jacksonville, Fla., Glenn Campbell Cunningham of Manvel, Texas, and Kevan Cunningham of East Liverpool; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Bryson and Wanda Hooker, and two brothers, Kenny Cunningham and Glenn Cunningham.

Friends may from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Dawson Funeral Home, where services will follow at 1:30, officiated by his nephew, Pastor Robert Hooker. Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
