Eugene William Burford Sr., 94, of North Lima, OH passed away April 12, 2015. Born April 1,192 1, to the late William L. and Margaret Tilla Burford in New Castle, PA. Brother Eugene worked at the Steel and Tin Mills and the P.L.E. Railroad, he also had a produce farm in New Wilmington, PA.
Brother Eugene was commissioned to the ministry in the Wesyln Holiness and Brethren in Christ Mennonite Church and ordained to the ministry March 10, 1972 in the Conservative Mennonite Church Brotherhood. Brother Eugene was a minister at the Christian Mennonite Fellowship Mission church in East Lewistown, OH. He also was instrumental in different mission churches. He was noted for his work of gospel lititure distributing, known as the Neglected Truth Facts. He authored many gospel tracts and booklets.
Along with his parents he was proceeded in death by an infant sister, his Wife Eileen Patricia MacDonald, whom were married June 7, 1939, a son Eugene William Burford Jr., and a number of grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Naomi (Paul Kurtz), Ruth (William Keeler), Esther (Rick Smith), Rachel (Mike Ashby), and John (Laura Gingerich), 23 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, and a brother in law, William and wife Joyce MacDonald of Brandon, FL.
Visitation to be at the Midway Mennonite Church, Columbiana, OH on Tuesday, April 14 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm. The funeral service to be held at the Hartville Conservative Mennonite Church, Market Street, Hartville OH on Wednesday, April 15, visitation at 9:00am and services at 10:00am.
