— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 4:10 a.m. Friday for a report of a runaway juvenile. The juvenile had run off during the night with an unknown destination. A missing juvenile form was filled out and entered into LEADS. Officers checked areas the juvenile was known to visit.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Lincoln Avenue at 1:36 a.m. Friday for a domestic in progress. The female party advised she and her boyfriend had gotten into a physical altercation, which also involved her juvenile daughter. Photographs of all parties’ injuries were obtained and the boyfriend, Richard Demeo, 50, was arrested charged with domestic violence. Charges for the female party are pending.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of East Pershing Street at 8:12 p.m. Thursday for an intoxicated man. Officers stood by until the wife returned to the residence so he could be released to a sober adult.

— Officers located a man walking through the woods behind 152 Continental Drive at 6:58 p.m. Thursday. The man was ordered out of the woods, and he complied. Officers previously advised the man he was trespassed from all property in the area. Officers ran the man’s name and checked his BMV picture, at that point officers observed the information given did not match the man on scene, who continued to insist the given name was his. Another agency was contacted and the man’s real name, Nathan Knight, 39, Lisbon, was found. The man was then arrested for obstruction, criminal trespass, and during a search after the arrest, a glass pipe was located, adding another charge for drug paraphernalia. Knight was transported to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Police responded to the 600 block of East Sixth Street at 4:11 p.m. Saturday where a resident giving a friend a gaming system after agreeing to a sale, but the friend did not render payment. Police made contact with the friend and retrieved the gaming system, returning it to the caller, who was advised to secure payment before giving items away.

— An officer responded to the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in reference to ATVs on the roadway. Upon arrival, officers observed people riding an ATV and a mini dirt bike on the roadway. The officer spoke with the two riders and advised them they are not allowed to ride ATVs and dirt bikes on city streets.

— Officers responded to a 2700 block East State Street business at 3:58 a.m. Saturday in reference to two suspicious people who had returned to the business and were acting suspicious. Officers spoke with the two people who said they had purchased gas earlier in the morning and believed the pump shut off prior to them getting the gas for which they paid. The clerk said the transaction was accurate. The two people were advised to speak with the manager at a later date to dispute the charges.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of Ohio Avenue at 2:59 a.m. Saturday in reference to someone who appeared to be having a medical issue. Officers found the person, who was ultimately transported to the Salem hospital for evaluation.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 12:43 a.m. Saturday in reference to a suspicious person. Officers searched the complex and several side streets but were unable to find anyone.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue at 12:37 a.m. Saturday in reference to multiple people fighting. Upon arrival, officers observed a woman flee the scene on foot. Officers eventually detained the woman and spoke with the other person involved and determined the woman who fled, who was intoxicated, had started the altercation. The other person did not wish to press pursue charges, but was transported by EMS to the Salem hospital for evaluation. Charges are pending.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 11:30 p.m. Friday where a resident reported being harassed. Officers spoke with the resident about the matter.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of South Ellsworth Avenue at 10:25 p.m. Friday in reference to someone acting strange while riding a bicycle. Officers spoke with the person in question and found the person to intoxicated. Arrangements were made for the person’s mother to pick him up.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Ohio Avenue at 9:17 p.m. Friday where a resident reported an individual had broken into her house, but she did not see him do it. An officer spoke with the individual in question along with his friend, who both denied breaking into the home. The individual in question was advised to stay off the caller’s property.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Maple Street at 7:56 p.m. Friday to check the well-being of a resident after a family member reported concern about statements he made of self harm. Officers spoke with the resident in-depth and he agreed to seek someone with whom to speak. The resident was transported to a local hospital by a family member.

— Jesse Lee Williams, 30, Salem, was charged with OVI and endangering children, as well as cited for assured clear distance ahead and driving under suspension following a two-vehicle crash at North Lincoln Avenue and East State Street in which he was southbound and following to close to a vehicle driven by Gregory A. Davis, 42, Salem, striking the vehicle. Williams was suffering a medical emergency at the time of the incident and was transported by ambulance to the Salem hospital. An investigation revealed he was driving impaired with a juvenile passenger.

— Officers responded to the Salem Regional Medical Center at 4:07 p.m. Friday in reference to a combative patient who was slamming doors and swinging fists at nurses. Officers found that the patient had calmed down and stood by until no longer needed.
