— Officers responded at 11:50 p.m. to West Martin Street to a report of a suspicious person in the area on Saturday. The subject was not located.

— Officers responded at 8:42 p.m. to East Grant Street to a report of a male looking into car windows with a flashlight on Saturday. Officers were unable to locate the subject.

— Officers provided a resident at 6:08 p.m. on Saturday information about text message harassment.

— Officers responded at 3:44 p.m. to Park Drive to a report of a verbal dispute. The dispute was resolved on scene.

— Officers made contact with a photographer who was on the tracks near Pizza Joe’s on West Clark Street on Saturday. The subject was advised to leave, which they did.

— Officers responded at 3:09 p.m. to West Clark Street to a report of a man at a residence attempting to gain information from a resident about her electric bill on Friday. The subject could not be located.

— Officers took a report from a resident on East Main Street of a neighbor dispute at 9:17 p.m. on Friday.

— Officers arrested David Young, no age or address given, for OVI at 7:05 on Thursday. Officers stopped Young after reportedly witnessing him drive a four-wheeler on the roadway.

— A woman called the station at 3:12 p.m. to report being harassed on social media on Thursday.

— The school resource officer checked a residence on Carbon Hill after a truancy report at 9:11 a.m. on Thursday.

— A man on Carbon Hill reported at 8:23 a.m. that someone appeared to put fake blood in his mailbox on Thursday.

— A woman came to the station at 7:48 a.m. to report someone appeared to have put fake blood on her vehicle Thursday.

— Officers responded at 2:54 p.m. to the intersection of Market and Main streets on Wednesday. Officers stood by until a towing company removed the vehicle from the roadway.

— Officers cited Sarah Graham, 22, no address given, for driving under suspension following a traffic stop at 8:30 a.m. on Garfield Avenue on Wednesday.

— A man came to the station at 6:29 p.m. Wednesday to report that his mother’s neighbor on East Martin Street confronted him about an issue with his mother and made threats against him.

— Officers spoke at 10:02 p.m. Wednesday to a Pinetree Circle resident who reported receiving harassing and threatening telecommunications.

— Officers performed a wellness check at 10:23 a.m. for a male on North Market Street Sept. 5. Officers found the man deceased.

— A woman came to the station at 9:40 a.m. Sept. 5 to report someone had gone through her mail.

— A representative with Hepaco reported damage to a trailer at the train derailment site at 12:44 p.m. Sept. 5.

— Officers responded to a report of an animal stuck in a trap at 5:53 p.m. Sept. 5. The homeowners advised they would release it.

— Officers took a complaint at 7:06 p.m. Sept. 4 from a woman who reported that a relative had started a GoFundMe page for her child’s medical condition but did not give her the donations received. The matter is under investigation.

Highway Patrol

— Rosemary Hay, 68, Lisbon, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after her northwest bound vehicle on state Route 7 struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Trasa Ogozaly, 51, Columbiana, at 4:47 p.m. Monday in Middleton Township. No injuries were reported.

— Sherry Coleman, 58, Wellsburg, West Virginia, was cited for a signal violation after her westbound vehicle on state Route 558 attempted to turn onto state Route 7 and was struck by a vehicle driven east on state Route 558 by Tara Shepard, 38, Lisbon at 5:39 p.m. Thursday in Fairfield Township. Shepard’s passenger, Joseph Windell, 41, East Palestine, was transported to Mercy Health Youngstown by Columbiana EMS for suspected minor injuries.

— Jonathan Best, 17, Columbiana, was cited for failure to yield after his vehicle failed to yield when turning onto Fairfield School Road and was struck by a vehicle driven north on Fairfield School Road by Jillian Zuch, 33, East Palestine, at 2:49 p.m. Thursday in Fairfield Township. No injuries were reported.

— Christopher Thorn, 28, Bristolville, was cited for failure to yield after his vehicle failed to yield to traffic while entering state Route 7 from a private drive and was struck by a vehicle driven north on state Route 7 by Austin Miller, 16, East Liverpool, at 11:12 a.m. Thursday in Madison Township. Miller was treated on scene by West Point EMS for suspected minor injuries and Thorn was transported to East Liverpool hospital by West Point EMS for suspected minor injuries.

— William Kiehl, 79, Rogers, was traveling south on Millrock Road when it caught fire at 3:42 p.m. in Unity Township. No injuries were reported.

— Victor Hull, 70, Kensington, was cited for failure to yield after his southbound vehicle on state Route 9 struck a vehicle driven west on state Route 172 by Stephanie Cooper-Bickerton at 4:23 p.m. Sept. 6 in Hanover Township. No injuries were reported.

— Jonathan Fish, 43, East Palestine, was cited for assured clear distance ahead, a seatbelt violation and display of license plates after his eastbound vehicle on U.S. Route 62 struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Sidney Rambo, 21, East Palestine, at 4:50 p.m. in Butler Township. Rambo was treated on scene for suspected minor injuries.

— Jeffrey Powell, 63, Salem was cited for left of center after his eastbound vehicle on Winona Road went left of center and struck a vehicle driven west by Larry Witmer, 64, Columbiana, at 7:45 a.m. Sept. 5 in Butler Township. No injuries were reported.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Continental Drive at 11:40 a.m. Sunday for a report of individuals banging on apartment doors and windows and running away. Two tenants advised this occurs at all hours of the day and night and has been going on for the last several weeks. An extra patrol request was added.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of West State Street at 3:19 a.m. Sunday to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol with a traffic investigation. The juvenile driver was taken into custody and transported to the police department for a breath test.

— Officers on patrol on South Union Avenue at 2:39 a.m. Sunday observed Ohio State Highway Patrol attempting to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle had been eastbound on East Pershing Street before making a rapid turn onto South Union with the patrol unit in pursuit. When the vehicle pulled over near Oak Street officers responded to assist and stood by while the trooper administered field sobriety tests to the driver, whose name was not listed, and issued a citation for the initial traffic violation.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Maple Street at 12:01 a.m. Sunday for a possible domestic heard in the background of a 911 call. Officers found the matter to be a verbal argument and both parties were separated for the evening.

— Officers responded to the area of West Sixth Street at 10:13 p.m. Saturday for a fireworks complaint. While searching the area the person stopped setting off the fireworks.
