— Officers responded at 12:05 on Monday to Park Drive to a report of suspicious males at the bridge replacement site. The subjects were leaving the area when officers arrived and were advised of the complaint.
— Officers spoke with an East Martin Street resident at 11:20 a.m. Monday regarding a complaint of theft.
— Officers responded at 10:36 a.m. Monday to a report of truancy at an East Martin Street residence.
— Officers responded at 10:31 .am. Monday to a report of truancy at a Metz Road residence.
— Officers responded at 6:42 a.m. to a domestic dispute at East North Avenue on Monday. The issue was resolved with no further issues.
— Officers took a report at 12:41 p.m. Sunday from a woman regarding harassing text messages from her ex-husband. Officers made contact with her ex-husband and warned him to cease all communications or face telecommunications harassment charges.
— An East Martin Street resident reported to officers at 7:16 p.m. on Saturday his tools were stolen by someone known to him. He asked officers to warn the individual to stay off his property. Officers made contact with the subject and advised to stay off the property under risk of arrest or charges.
— Officers responded at 2:58 p.m. to West Martin Street to a report of a man yelling on Saturday. Officers located the man who was on his phone and advised him to keep it down and he agreed.
— Officers assisted in a custody exchange between a mother and father on East Main Street on Saturday.
— Officers arrested Devin Scranton, no age or address provided, for assault after investigating a complaint on East Main Street at 10:29 p.m. Friday.
— A female came to the station at 4:29 p.m. on Friday to report a fraud.
— A resident called the station at 11:34 a.m. on Friday to ask about landlord-tenant law. The resident was advised it was a civil matter.
— An East Clark Street resident reported at 11:05 a.m. on Friday that someone known to him had taken his vehicle and not returned it. The car was received the next day in Beaver Falls, Pa.
— A business on North Market Street reported at 5:03 p.m. on Aug. 24 a strong odor of marijuana coming from a second-floor apartment. Police warned the residents to cease and desist or face charges.
— A pursuit which began at 8:43 p.m. on Aug. 24 on North Market Street ended on state Route 14 when the fleeing vehicle ran out of gas. Officers then arrested Arthur Gingher, no age or address provided, and found suspected narcotic, hypodermic syringes, marijuana and two airsoft handguns made to look like actual firearms in his possession. Gingher was charged with failure to comply, possessing drug abuse instruments, driving under suspension, no visible registration, speed, failing to use a turn signal, operating an unsafe vehicle and possession of marijuana. More charges are pending. The vehicle was towed from the scene and Gingher transported to the county jail.
— A female came to the station at 8:36 a.m. on Aug. 22 to report her social media hacked and her identity possibly stolen.
Leetonia
— Officers spoke with a man at the police department at 12:28 p.m. Saturday for access to a village building. The building had lost power so the man’s swipe card would not work. Officers followed him to the building to allow access.
— Officers responded to Main Street at 10:14 a.m. Saturday for a parking complaint. Officers ran plates on four vehicles to get the owners address and contacted them to have the vehicles moved.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Walnut Street at 2:56 p.m. Aug. 23 for a 911 hang-up call. Dispatch attempted to call the number back unsuccessfully. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone in question.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of Pearl Street at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 23 for an open burning complaint. Officers spoke with the property owner who advised he was burning vines that were in front of his house that he had ripped out. Officers advised him of what can and cannot be burned within the village and the fire was extinguished.
Salem
— Officers responded to the area of Centennial Drive and East Pershing Street at 7:31 p.m. Monday for a report of theft involving two juveniles. It was reported that a female juvenile had stolen $20 in cash from a male juvenile’s pocket. The officer obtained the money and returned it to the male juvenile’s guardian. The guardian wanted nothing further done since the money had been returned.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of Sunset Boulevard at 7:26 p.m. Monday for a report of a dog left inside a vehicle with the window’s rolled up. Officers found the vehicle in question and advised the owner of the complaint, which he resolved.
— Officers responded to the area of Jennings Avenue and West State Street at 6:54 p.m. Monday for a report of a reckless operator. The caller advised that a vehicle was seen driving recklessly, and in the process swerved into the caller’s yard. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate it.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of Rose Avenue at 6:30 p.m. Monday for a reported dispute where it was advised the male half had multiple credit cards belonging to the female half and wouldn’t return them. Officers spoke with the man who advised he didn’t have her cards. Officers provided the caller with her options for handling the issue.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of Rose Avenue at 6:06 p.m. Monday for a reported domestic dispute. The caller advised that a female household member was throwing his property outside. Officers spoke with both parties involved and found the incident to be verbal in nature only. Officers advised both parties to remain separated for the evening.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of West Fourth Street at 4:43 p.m. Monday for a neighbor dispute. The caller advised her neighbor’s dog is always in their yard. Officers spoke with the owner, advising them of the city’s leash laws. The owner advised the issue wouldn’t happen again.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of East Sixth Street at 9:59 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. The person in question refused medical treatment and advised they were just trying to go home. After confirming the person was okay, officers allowed him to do so.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of Woodland Avenue at 8:59 p.m. Tuesday for a reported fight. Officers checked the area, but no disturbance was located. Officers spoke with people in the area, who advised they didn’t observe any disturbance.
— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Seventh Street at 8:32 p.m. Tuesday for a report of suspicious activity. It was reported that while her juvenile daughter was walking at Waterworth Memorial Park a suspicious man appeared to be following and taking pictures of the juvenile. Officers obtained a description of the man and vehicle and checked the area, but were unable to locate him. An extra patrol will be placed near the park as a safety precaution.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of Newgarden Avenue at 8:21 p.m. Tuesday for a domestic dispute. Officers spoke with all parties involved and found the incident to be verbal in nature only.
— Officers took a report at the police department at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday for an ongoing juvenile problem at the high school. The necessary information was gathered, and the caller was advised a report would be forwarded to the school resource officers and that she would be contacted about the incident.
— Officers responded to the 2300 block of Lexington Avenue at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday to assist EMT with a medical call. Officers stood by until they were no longer needed.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of West Fourteenth Street at 7:39 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check on the caller’s mother who was watching her children that she had been unable to contact. Officers made contact and found everything was okay.
— Officers responded to the 600 block of Prospect Street at 7:28 p.m. Tuesday for a neighbor dispute. Officers spoke with the parties involved and were advised that the two were arguing over a child’s scooter, with threats made by one party. The parties were advised to stay away from one another for the evening and discuss the matter another day.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of West Perry Street at 7:25 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a vicious dog that allegedly attacks other animals in the neighborhood. The dog was located shortly after officer’s arrived and the owner was located in the 1000 block of Newgarden Avenue, who advised the dog had accidentally gotten out. The dog was returned to its owners.
— Officers responded to the 2300 block of East State Street at 2:31 p.m. Tuesday for a report of identity theft. The caller advised that an unknown person was using his personal information to make purchases at a local business. The matter is under investigation.
