Perry Township

— Officers responded to a business in the 500 block of East State Street at 10:39 p.m. Sunday to assist Salem officers with a disorderly man causing a disturbance outside of a business. Officers trespassed the man from the business.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Euclid Street at 4:58 a.m. Sunday to assist Salem officers with a reported assault that had occurred earlier in the evening. A report was filed.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of West Fifth Street at 2:09 a.m. Sunday for a report of a car alarm going off. Officers searched the area, finding no problems and nothing to be missing from the vehicle.

— Officers attempted to stop two motorcycles for driving recklessly and failing to obey traffic control devices at 8:42 p.m. Saturday. Officers began a pursuit with the vehicles, but due to heavy traffic conditions and potential risk of injury to the riders and public, officers terminated the pursuit.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 2:45 a.m. Saturday for a vehicle that went left of center and struck a telephone pole. After further investigation the driver, Gary Weber, Salem, was arrested for OVI and cited for failure to control and left of center.

— Officers responded to the intersection of state Route 9 and Conser Drive at 3:47 a.m. Friday for a report of a transformer and power lines down in the middle of the roadway. Officers stood by and directed traffic until the road could be closed.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of state Route 9 at 5:56 a.m. Friday for a vehicle that failed to stop for fire department personnel and hit a tree in the roadway. The driver was uninjured and the vehicle was removed by Sinsley’s Towing.

— Officers on patrol in the 2000 block of Goshen Road at 2:40 a.m. Friday located a large tree down blocking the roadway. Officers notified the fire department.

— Officers on patrol in the 2000 block of Egypt Road at 2:02 a.m. Friday located a tree down on electric wires, blocking the roadway. Officers notified the fire department and the road was closed.

— Officers on patrol in the area of Painter Road at 1:37 a.m. Friday located a vehicle stuck in the ditch that attempted to turn around due to a downed tree. Officers contacted Sinsley’s Towing and the vehicle was removed.

— Officers on patrol on Painter Road at 1:20 a.m. Friday located two large tree limbs blocking the roadway. Officers were able to remove the limbs.

— Officers on patrol in the 1000 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 1:14 a.m. Friday located two large tree limbs blocking the roadway. Officers were able to remove the limbs.

— Officers responded to Salem Acres for a neighbor complaint at 8:09 p.m. Thursday for a neighbor complaint. The caller advised the neighbor was taking videos of her juvenile children while talking to the neighbor’s child. Officers advised them of the complaint.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 5:24 p.m. Thursday for a possible dispute. When officers arrived, it was found the male half was being loud, but both parties involved said nothing had occurred.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of Allen Drive at 11:03 p.m. Aug. 22 to contact a man for the Youngstown Police Department. Officers spoke with the homeowner who advised the person in question no longer lived at the residence. Officers will forward all information to the Youngstown department.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Plymouth Place at 11:08 a.m. Aug. 21 for a medical call with an unresponsive person. When officers arrived, they began chest compressions and continued until EMS arrived, treating and transporting the person to the Salem Regional Medical Center.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Vine Street at 4:55 p.m. Saturday for a report of a possible sex offense. Officers spoke with the parties involved, collecting their information. Further investigation is pending.

— Officers responded to the 2300 block of East State Street at 4:38 p.m. Saturday for a report of endangering children. Officers located the children in question, ages 2 and 7, playing around a vehicle in the parking lot. Officers spoke with one of the children and learned their mother was in the store shopping with another child. Officers located the mother inside the store, advising her of the complaint and that the matter would be sent to children’s services as well as the Columbiana County Prosecutor’s Office for possible charges.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Sixth Street at 2:36 p.m. Saturday for a parking complaint. Officers were advised that a vehicle had not moved for an extended period of time. Officers spoke with the owner of the vehicle who advised that he drives the vehicle and that the neighbors across the street are upset because it is legally parked on the roadway, but in front of their property.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of West Wilson Street at 1:28 p.m. Saturday for an animal complaint. The caller advised that the neighbor’s dog had come into her yard and attacked one of her animals. Officers spoke with the neighbor, whose name was not listed, and cited him for dog at large.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 1:07 p.m. Saturday for a report of a suspicious person. Officers located the person in question who advised she had found a backpack and some other items near her house. Officers were able to obtain a name from medication in the backpack and transported it to the police department for safekeeping and to attempt to contact the owner.

–Officers responded with the fire department at 11:46 a.m. Saturday for a reported ambulance needed. The caller advised a woman was passed out on the sidewalk. The woman was transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center by the fire department.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 11:22 a.m. Saturday for a wellness check. Officers were unable to make contact with the person in question.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of West State Street at 10:54 a.m. Saturday for a report of reckless operation. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle in question.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 2:41 p.m. Saturday for a single-vehicle accident. Officers found the accident had occurred in Perry Township, and stood by while the driver, whose name was not listed, was taken into custody for OVI. Officers then responded to the police department to conduct a breath test.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue at 2:33 a.m. Saturday for a reported reckless operator. Officers were advised of two motorcycles doing burn outs in front of a business. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on one of the motorcycles, which refused to stop and fled at a high rate of speed. Officers were also advised that the motorcycles had wrecked in front of the business before fleeing the scene.

— Officers responded to the area of Hawley and East Fifth at 1:23 a.m. Saturday for a reckless operator complaint. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

— Officers on patrol in the 100 block of West State Street at 12:50 a.m. Saturday observed a woman walking around without pants and shoes. Officers spoke with the woman who advised that everything was okay and that she had too much to drink. Officers gave the woman a ride back to her residence.

— Officers responded to the area of Granite Avenue and Liberty Street at 10:30 p.m. Friday to assist highway patrol with a warrant traffic stop. Officers stood by while troopers conducted their traffic stop.

— Officers responded to a business in the 2400 block of East State Street at 9:38 p.m. Friday for multiple people to be removed. An employee advised they were taking day old thawed meat from the dumpster, and due to the health risk and trespassing, wanted them off the property.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Vine Street at 8:44 p.m. Friday for a possible domestic incident. When officers arrived, both parties advised that there had been no incident.

— Officers responded to the 1500 block of Maples Street at 8:04 p.m. Friday for a speak with officer complaint. The caller advised her juvenile nephew had run away from his house and was currently with her. Officers advised the caller the juvenile needed to be returned to his guardian and transported him to his local jurisdiction and released to the custody of the Smith Township police Department.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of Cleveland Street at 6:37 p.m. Friday for a vehicle complaint. The caller advised a vehicle was parked in front of her driveway. While officers were on scene the driver of the vehicle arrived and claimed she didn’t know she couldn’t block a driveway. The vehicle was moved.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of East State Street at 6:19 p.m. Friday for a medical call. Officers stood by until EMT responded and transported the person in question.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of Prospect Street at 3:55 p.m. Friday for a juvenile issue. Officers were advised that juveniles had punched a shed in the park. Officers located the juveniles who advised they were looking for their ball and it had gone under the garage door to the shed. Officers spoke with the juvenile’s parents and advised them of the complaint.

— Officers responded to the 1400 block of East State Street at 2:07 p.m. Friday for a report of a dog at large. Officers were unable to locate the animal.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of Hawley Avenue at 2:01 p.m. Friday for severe weather damage. The caller advised a tree had fallen onto their property and damaged their fence. Officers documented the damage to the fence.

— Officers responded with the fire department to the 1300 block of Fairview Avenue at 1:24 p.m. Friday for a possible fire. Officers assisted with traffic control at the fire department’s request until they were no longer needed.

— Officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Franklin Street at 12 p.m. Friday for a report of severe weather damage. The caller advised that a tree had fallen onto her vehicle. Officers documented, and photographed the damage, and provided the caller with a report number for her insurance.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Ohio Avenue at 12:57 p.m. Tuesday for a neighbor dispute. The caller advised that her son went next door due to her neighbor saying it was fine for him to be there, and that it had upset her. Officers advised her to contact officers so the matter can be handled properly instead of causing an issue with the neighbor in the future.

— Officers responded to the area of North Union Avenue and East State Street at 11:54 a.m. Tuesday for a wellness check on a woman allegedly falling over while walking. Officers spoke with the woman who advised she had just been discharged from the hospital and was trying to get home to Lisbon, but did not have a ride nor any way to contact a ride. Officers assisted her in obtaining transportation to Lisbon.

— Officers responded to the 1400 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 11:54 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a suspicious person. Officers located the man in question lying down on the ground in the back parking lot. The man advised that he was just taking a break from working out and was fine.

— Officers spoke with a woman at the police department at 11:36 a.m. Tuesday about an incident that occurred at her prior place of residence. She advised that she had just moved, and while in the process, her neighbor took photos of her children doing something outside of the previous residence, and she was concerned and wanted officers to speak with her. Officers advised they would follow up with the neighbor.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Bentley Drive at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that the neighbor behind him is making noise at all hours of the day and night. Officers spoke with the neighbor who advised they would try to keep the noise down.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of East State Street at 6 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a suspicious person walking in the alleys with a box on his shoulder. Officers spoke with the man, who advised he was walking to a nearby residence.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West Fourth Street at 4:39 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a person with a knife. Officers determined that there were no threats made toward any parties involved and that an argument had gotten emotional, hence the knife being involved. None of the parties had any intention of harming one another and the person who was primarily in question was advised to leave the property and not return or charges would be filed.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Walnut Street at 2:50 a.m. Tuesday for a speak with officer report. The caller and his girlfriend advised that a man who is not supposed to be contacting them had just done so by phone. Officers attempted contact but he was not there. They were advised to call back if the man continued contacting them.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of East Fifth Street at 1:01 a.m. Tuesday for a noise complaint. The caller advised that a man and woman were removing the plow from a vehicle and were being loud. Officers spoke with them about the issue, and they advised they were already done.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of Barclay Avenue at 12:37 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a person having a potential mental health crisis. Officers spoke with the person in question and the fire department and EMT responded to assess the person. The person was transported to Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital in Youngstown for further evaluation.

— Officers assisted Ohio State Highway Patrol in conducting a breath test at a police department at 10:50 p.m. Monday. Officers stood by until no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the area of Franklin and Chestnut at 9:56 p.m. Monday to assist Leetonia Officers with a pursuit of two motorcycles. Leetonia officers were able to stop one of the motorcycles outside of city limits, but the other had fled coming into city limits. Officers located the bike on Franklin and attempted to initiate a stop, but the driver fled. Officers pursued the motorcycle, but due to unsafe speeds and the bike leaving the city limit officers ultimately terminated the pursuit. Officers were unable to obtain a plate for the bike that was pursued.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 9:01 p.m. Monday for a report of an irate person. The caller advised his next door neighbor was screaming at him and he just wanted her to leave him alone. Officers spoke with the neighbor, who officers were aware deals with mental issues. She was advised to leave the caller alone.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Rose Avenue at 8:05 p.m. Monday for a reported neighbor dispute. Officers were advised that the parties involved got into a verbal dispute and that it is an ongoing issue. Officers spoke with all parties involved, advising them to remain separated for the evening.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Fairview Avenue at 4:10 p.m. Monday for a report of a downed power line. Officers determined it to be a cable line and the fire department responded to the scene to move the line.
