Leetonia

–Officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Columbia Street at 3:58 a.m. Wednesday for a reported domestic disturbance. When they arrived officers heard a man yelling in the back yard, who advised he and his girlfriend were having relationship issues and that those issues were the source of the yelling. The homeowner advised the couple could stay for the night as planned but needed to leave in the morning. The female also reported the incident to be verbal only and that she was safe. Officers advised them to separate for the night and go to bed.

–Officers responded to state Route 344 near the bike trail at 12:14 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a man and woman that appeared to be fighting. Officers located the man and woman in question identifying them, with the male half acting uncooperatively and reluctant to provide officers with information. Officers patted him down for officer safety finding a prescription bottle in someone else’s name with several small light green pills labeled Clonazepam, which the man claimed he was holding for a friend. The pill bottle was confiscated and he was advised charges could be followed in relation to the pill bottle or pills. The female half advised they were arguing while walking into the village, and neither party exhibited any symptoms of injury or a physical fight. Both were checked for warrants with none located and were sent on their way. Officers were later advised of a man and woman yelling at each other on Columbia Street at 1:05 p.m. that was potentially the same couple. Officers checked the area from Columbia Street to village limits with the surrounding side streets and alleys checked by Columbiana officers. Officers were unable to locate anyone matching the description.

–Officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of Pearl Street at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. A neighbor advised that a known man was outside yelling at the resident. When officers arrived they heard loud music and shouting coming from a shed in the backyard, knocking several times to get the man’s attention and to get him to turn the music down. Officers asked him about the yelling and he said he had been mad and yelling but that it wasn’t at anyone. The man advised that the resident was at work and her daughter was inside the residence. Officers spoke with the daughter who advised that she was safe and her mom had been allowing the man to stay there. Officers instructed him to turn his music down and stop yelling for the night, and the man complied, saying he was done for the night.

–Officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Honey Lane at 10:24 p.m. for a domestic issue. The caller advised his mother was very intoxicated and had locked him out of the residence, and that he lives at the residence and pays rent. Officers contacted the mother who allowed the caller to go inside and get his things. The caller advised they would stay at a friend’s residence for the night.

Salem

–Officers responded to the 400 block of Woodland Avenue at 9:57 a.m. Friday for a report of a suspicious person. The person in question advised they were attempting to help with storm damage and was given a ride to their residence.

–Officers spoke to a woman at the police department at 9:52 a.m. Friday for a civil issue with her ex-husband. The woman had proper paperwork and was advised to contact her attorney.

–Officers responded to the 200 block of Continental Drive at 6:09 a.m. Friday for a report of a possible fire. Officers assisted the fire department in locating the source of the fire.

–Officers responded to the 1800 block of Fairview Court at 5:54 a.m. Friday for a wellness check. Officers were asked to check the residence for damage due to the owner being unable to. Officers found the residence to be OK.

— Officers responded to several locations throughout the city Thursday and Friday to assist with reports of weather damage. Several trees and power lines throughout the city were downed during the storm. Officers cleared what debris could be moved and documented damage and contacted the street and fire departments as well as Ohio Edison for assistance.

–Officers observed a vehicle parked in the park during restricted hours at 4:50 a.m. Friday. Officers advised the occupant of park hours.

–Officers on patrol in the 100 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 1:08 a.m. Friday observed a vehicle driven westbound on East State Street by Scott McKinney, 51, Salem, attempt to turn onto South Lincoln Avenue and strike a vehicle driven eastbound on East State by Timothy Schultz, 24, Columbiana. Officers found McKinney to have signs of impairment, conducting a field sobriety test, determining him to be intoxicated. McKinney was transported to the police department and completed a breath test, which showed him to be over the legal limit. McKinney was also found to have an expired license and was cited for OVI, expired license, and failure to yield. No injuries were reported.

–Officers responded to the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue at 10:33 p.m. Thursday for a reported dispute between two household members. Officers spoke with all parties involved and found the caller didn’t want any action taken about the matter and advised all parties to remain separated for the night.

–Officers responded to the 300 block of Fair Avenue at 9:25 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check. The caller advised their friend had made statements of harming himself. Officers spoke with the person who advised he was in a bad state of mind. First responders and EMT responded, and the person was voluntarily transported to the hospital for treatment.

–Officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 9:15 p.m. Thursday for the second time that evening for a report of the male half returning to the residence. The man advised he was just trying to get his remaining property and leave the residence. He obtained the remainder of his property and left the area.

–Officers responded to the area of North Lincoln Avenue and East Fifth Street at 8:41 p.m. Thursday for a report of a suspicious man sitting on people’s properties. Officers checked the area along with several surrounding streets but did not locate the man in question.

–Officers responded to the 300 block of Fair Avenue at 7:47 p.m. Thursday for a person to be removed. The caller advised that the person was acting irate, and they wanted them to leave. Officers gave the person a ride to their home and advised her to stay in the residence.

–Officers responded to the 500 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 7:33 p.m. Thursday for a reported dispute. Officers spoke with a man and woman who advised that they had an argument, and the female half wanted the male half to leave. The woman advised that the man had stayed at the residence for a little over a week but does not reside there. The man gathered his belongings and departed the area.

–Officers responded to the 2300 block of Southeast Boulevard at 7:23 p.m. Thursday for a report of a barking dog. Officers spoke with the owner, advising them of the complaint. The owner advised they would get the dog to stop barking.

–Officers responded to the area of South Lundy Avenue and Bank Street at 5:18 p.m. Thursday for a report of accidental damage to a stop sign. The sign was placed upright but the metal brace was cracked and needed fixed. Offices advised dispatch to leave a message for the street department.

–Officers responded to the 200 block of West Fourth Street at 4:09 p.m. Thursday for a report of a check being delivered to the wrong address. The caller advised of a possible house where the package was delivered. Officers spoke with the resident at the other address who advised there had been nothing delivered that day. The caller later advised the check was canceled.

–Officers responded to a business in the 2100 block of East State Street at 3:33 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check on a woman wandering around the parking lot. Officers spoke with the woman who advised she couldn’t remember her name or where she lived, just that she had been walking for hours. First responders were called to the scene and the woman was transported to the emergency room by EMT for further evaluation.

–Officers responded to the 600 block of East third Street at 3:18 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check on a man lying on the sidewalk. Officers spoke with the man, who was lying on his front steps. The man’s roommate helped him up and into the residence.

–Officers responded to the 700 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 3:19 p.m. Thursday for a report of an unattended juvenile. Officers located the juvenile who was playing outside his residence and advised he had taken the dog outside and locked the door by accident. The juvenile advised his mother was in the house sleeping, while speaking with the juvenile, the mother came outside and advised she had fallen asleep and didn’t realize her son had gone outside.

–Officers responding to the high school at 2:50 p.m. Thursday for a reported parking complaint. Officers were advised by several drivers that while in the parking circle picking up their kids one parent was unhappy with the situation and sped off through the parking lot. Officers were able to get a plate number and will advise the parent that if his behavior continues, he will have to find a different way to get his child to school.

–Matthew Douglas,22, Beloit, was cited for expired registration and a seatbelt violation stemming from a traffic stop after his northbound vehicle on South Pricetown road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 6:51 p.m. Thursday.

–Nancy Winski, 23, Wellsville, was cited for speeding after her southbound vehicle on Cleveland East Liverpool Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 11:46 p.m. Tuesday.

–Shawn McCune, 30, McDonald, was cited for speeding after his eastbound vehicle on West South Range Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 8:51 a.m. Tuesday.

–Ray Tasker, 37, Alliance, was cited for speeding after her northbound vehicle on South Pricetown Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 6:49 a.m. Monday.

–Richard Geul, 27, Salem, was cited for speeding after his westbound vehicle on West South Range Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 10:05 a.m. Aug. 20.

–Tiffani Dickson, 23, Salem, was cited for speeding after her westbound vehicle on West South Range Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 8:02 p.m. Aug. 19.

–Akeim Oliver was cited for driving under suspension stemming from a traffic stop after his vehicle on Alliance Salem Road was observed crossing the fog line at 6:40 p.m. Aug. 19.

–Christopher Patterson, 31, Newton Falls, was cited for speeding after his southeast bound vehicle on Cleveland East Liverpool Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 11:55 a.m. Aug. 19.

–Marcus Talford, 50, Youngstown, was cited for speeding after his eastbound vehicle on Western Reserve Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 6:25 p.m. Aug. 18.

–Edward Etheridge, 59, Youngstown, was cited for speeding and a headlight violation after his northbound vehicle on West South Range Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 12:02 p.m. Aug. 18.

–Officers responded to the 13000 block of West South Range Road at 10:27 p.m. Aug. 17 for a reported dog bite. The caller advised he had been bitten on the hand by a dog when he attempted to knock on the door to inform the resident that Ohio Edison was on the property doing work. The caller advised that the dog had come from the rear of the property and followed him back to his truck, biting him as he attempted to enter his truck. Officers attempted to contact the owner, but the dog was still present outside the residence and officers were unable to make contact and issued the owner, Don Baird,56, Salem a citation for failure to confine dogs.

–Stephanie Scheckelhoff, 22, Canfield, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after her eastbound vehicle on Youngstown Salem Road struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Amanda Fitzpatrick, 40, Salem, at 9:10 a.m. Aug. 17. No injuries were reported.

–Huntor Harper, 20, Beloit, was cited for driving under suspension stemming from a traffic stop after his vehicle on Fifth Street was observed committing a marked lanes violation at 3:40 p.m. Aug. 16.

–Todd Sommers, 22, Leetonia, was cited for speeding after his eastbound vehicle on Salem Unity Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 12:33 a.m. Aug. 16.
