County Sheriff
— Deputies responded at 1:50 a.m. Wednesday to the 5000 block of Woodsdale Road for a 911 call, locating a disturbance between and a male and female involving an ongoing issue. Both parties signed refusals.
— An alarm was reported at 1:03 a.m. Wednesday at the VFW on South County Road, Washingtonville. Deputies checked all doors and windows of the main structure and out buildings, finding all secure.
St. Clair Township
— A member of the Columbiana County Democratic Women’s Caucus came to the police station on July 26 at 1:46 p.m. to file a complaint that signs they had placed saying vote no on Issue 1 had been removed from Challenger Driver and other locations.
— Officers responded on July 26 at 8:19 p.m. to Walmart for a report of counterfeit money given to a cashier. An officer spoke with the employee and collected statements and the counterfeit money to put into evidence.
— On July 26 at 1:53 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on Gonzalez Avenue for a registration violation. The driver, identified as Robert Cornman, 55, address not provided, was placed under arrest and charged with drug paraphernalia and given a summons to appear in court. He was also issued a citation for driving offenses. The vehicle was towed.
— An officer spoke to a male on July 27 at 8:29 p.m. in regard to a male that won’t stop calling him and wanted to get it documented.
— On July 27 at 7:29 p.m., an elderly woman who was found walking on East Liverpool Road was brought to the station by a passerby. The woman was identified and transported by North Start EMS to the East Liverpool hospital.
— Officers were dispatched on July 28 at 2:45 p.m. to Dunham’s Plaza for a private property accident.
— Officers on July 28 at 9:52 a.m. responded to a private property crash at Chase Bank.
Liverpool Township
— An officer checking vehicular speed on state Route 11 on Aug. 9 clocked a vehicle at 1:58 a.m. going 71 mph in a 55-mph zone. The officer conducted a traffic stop and issued a citation with court date to Dylan Falk, age and address not provided, for speed.
— An officer was dispatched on Aug. 9 at 1:16 p.m. to state Route 11 to speak with a male who was called in to work construction on state Route 11 North. After returning to his truck the male observed the back window shattered by a large rock which was found on the back seat.
— An officer on patrol on Aug. 9 at 11:39 p.m. observed a vehicle with a loud exhaust. After running the plate of the vehicle, the officer discovered the plate was not valid and conducted a traffic stop on state Route 7. The driver identified as Samuel Dutting, age and address not provided, was issued a citation for driving with no license, fourth offense and released him with a mandatory court date. Dutton told the officer he would not make it to court as it was too far to drive from Youngstown. Dutting was informed if he does not appear a warrant would be issued.
Salem
— Officers responded to the 2200 block of East State Street at 2:34 p.m. Sunday for a wellness check. Officers located a woman that appeared to need medical attention. Medical personnel arrived and transported the woman.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 1:53 p.m. Sunday for a report of a distraught person. Officers located the person in question and spoke with them. The person was subsequently transported to the emergency room by ambulance.
— Officers responded to the area of North Howard Avenue and West Third Street at 10:01 a.m. Sunday to assist Perry Township officers in locating a vehicle involved in a pursuit. The vehicle was located and the driver, whose name was not listed, was taken into custody without incident.
— Officers responded to the 600 block of Franklin Avenue at 3:14 p.m. Sunday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised them they heard a horn and tires screeching coming from outside his home. Officers responded and checked the area but were unable to locate any vehicles.
— Officers on patrol in the 100 block of Ohio Avenue at 8:53 p.m. Saturday observed a verbal dispute. Officers spoke with the involved parties, finding the argument to be between a mother and son over a deceased cat. They were advised to cease their disorderly actions.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 8:27 p.m. Saturday for a barking dog complaint. Officers spoke with the owner and advised them of the complaint.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of West Pershing Street at 6:43 p.m. Saturday for wellness check. Officers found a man sleeping in his car who advised that he was waiting for the rain to stop so he could head home.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of West Fifth Street at 5:59 p.m. Saturday for an animal complaint. The caller advised that the neighbor’s dog came over and scratched a man’s leg. The man refused treatment and contact with made with the dog’s owner Amber Diehl, Salem, who was issued a citation for dog at large.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of East State Street at 12:46 p.m. Saturday for a reported verbal dispute. Officers spoke with the caller who advised the involved parties were now calm.
— Officers responded to Waterworth Memorial Park at 10:02 a.m. Saturday for a report of a damaged tree limb. Officers checked the area, finding a fallen tree limb and notified the parks department.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of West Wilson Street at 9:07 a.m. Saturday for a reported animal complaint. The caller advised that the neighbor’s dog had gotten loose and attacked one of her ducks. Officers spoke with the neighbor whose name was not listed and issued them a warning for dog at large.
— Officers responded to the 700 block of East Third Street at 8:40 a.m. for a report of possible criminal damage. The caller advised that a man had left destroyed clothing of a woman on the sidewalk in front of his residence. Officers asked to speak to the woman and that caller advised that she would not make a report and that she was not home. Officers advised the caller that if she changed her mind to contact the police department.
— Officers responded to the 1400 block of Franklin Avenue at 1:55 a.m. Saturday for a wellness check on a man on the side of the roadway. Officers were already in the area at the time of the call, and nobody was observed.
— Officers responded to Walmart at 8:25 p.m. Friday for a report of accidental damage. The caller advised that his vehicle had been struck by something while he was in the store. After watching video footage, it was found the damage had been caused by a shopping cart that rolled down the aisle and struck the vehicle. Walmart advised they would be making their own accident report and would reach out to the owner.
— Officers responded to the 700 block of East Fourth Street at 4:36 p.m. Friday for a parking complaint. Officers spoke with the owner and the vehicle was moved.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 2:37 p.m. Friday to assist the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force with taking a man into custody. The man, whose name was not listed, was taken into custody without incident and $150 was seized as evidence.
East Liverpool
— A female came into the police department on Aug. 1 at 3:59 p.m. to report her vehicle stolen. According to the female her red Cheverolet Cruze was parked in the south parking lot of the Market Avenue Apartments on July 28. She returned on Aug. 1 after being out of town to find the car gone.
— The department received a call of a black Honda driving recklessly on state Route 7 Aug. 1 at 8:23 p.m. Officers checked the area but did not see the vehicle.
— An officer was dispatched to the 500 block of Selfridge Street for a report of sexual assault on Aug. 1 at 1:45 p.m.
