Lisbon

— A woman on North Market Street reported at 12:24 p.m. Saturday that she was out with her children when what appeared to be a teenager with a hoodie came from the area of another residence and was staring at her children when they got her attention. She didn’t recognize him and as she started toward him, he ran away.

— James Derringer, Applegate Road, Lisbon, was cited for improper backing after backing up in an attempt to turn around and striking a vehicle driven by Jerry Castelucci, Oak Street, Leetonia, who was behind him northbound on North Beaver Street at 4:07 p.m. Friday.

— Officers responded at 10 p.m. Thursday to the Columbiana County Fairgrounds to assist Fairground Police with a juvenile fight. Officers were able to identify the juveniles involved, with Fairground Police investigating.

— A man and his nephew came to the station at 2:20 p.m. Thursday and said they wanted a renter removed from the apartments the man owns on North Market Street. They were told police can’t remove him, that they would have to evict him through court as a civil matter.

— Police responded at 5:46 a.m. Thursday to the Community Action Agency building for a report of suspicious circumstances. One of the employees came to work and noticed a vehicle parked in the parking lot and the door was unlocked. The officer escorted the employee inside and it was determined another employee as already working and unlocked the door.

— Dodie Dillinger, Campbell Road, Hanoverton, was injured after her eastbound Jeep Liberty traveled off of the right side of East Washington Street in the 300 block, striking a no parking sign before striking a residence at 306 E. Washington St. owned by Albert Ash at 1:12 p.m. Aug. 2. Dillinger was transported to Salem Regional Medical Center.

— Police were called at 9:26 p.m. Aug. 1 to the Lisbon Cemetery for a man lying on the ground between cars kissing the ground. The caller said he possibly got into a red minivan, but police did not find him.

— A man received a warning after a deputy initiated a traffic stop for him doing burnouts at the stop sign at North Vine Avenue near the library at 4:27 p.m. Aug. 1. A Lisbon officer responded to assist.

— A woman called at 4:06 p.m. Aug. 1 to report she was supposed to meet her daughter’s father to get her daughter at 4 p.m. in the Lisbon Police parking lot, but he had not arrived yet. She wanted a report on file.

— Officers on patrol at 3:11 a.m. Aug. 1 observed a female possibly tampering with the car wash coin machine. Officers spoke with her and she said she was getting change for the laundromat.

— Patrolman Alan Shaffer and K-9 Otis were requested to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol with narcotics detection at a stop on East Lincoln Way, Market Street at 1:10 a.m. Aug. 1. K-9 Otis alerted to the presence of narcotics and a suspected methamphetamine pipe was located.

— Police responded at 8:14 p.m. July 31 to the 200 block of Sherman Street for alleged threats and harassment reported by some people who pointed out a man on a neighbor’s deck who allegedly made threats while the one person was at football practice at the park and then later walked by their house and made threats. Police spoke to the man and he said the person had threatened his son and he had not threatened the person. He only made comments that he was not a girl and would fight back. Both parties were told to stay away from each other.

— Officers responded at 6:09 p.m. July 31 to Dickey Drive for an ongoing civil matter regarding custody and a protection order. The parties were told to follow up with the courts.

— Zharyia Moore, 25, Beloit, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, no valid license and marked lanes after a traffic stop at 12:56 a.m. July 31 on North Market Street. Officers located several items of drug paraphernalia and suspected narcotics.

— Police were called at 1:21 p.m. July 30 for a burning complaint on East Lincoln Way where people were cleaning out a house and were unaware they could not burn the items inside the village. The fire department was advised since the people did not have a hose.

— A resident on East Chestnut Street reported at 10:31 a.m. July 30 that someone stole his pride flag from his porch.

— A woman at Apple Grove apartments, Saltwell Road, reported at 10:27 a.m. July 30 that she felt staff was being unfair towards her because they did not like her guest. She was told to speak to the supervisor.

— An officer at 1:41 p.m. July 29 reported a man driving a green Ford SUV allegedly drinking and driving with his 5-year-old daughter in the back. The vehicle wasn’t located. The caller was concerned about the welfare of her daughter, the child in the vehicle. She was told to contact the sheriff’s office since the man lives outside the village.

— An officer at 1:04 a.m. July 26 noticed the book drop off box at McKinley Elementary School had been vandalized or tampered with. Officers placed the books back in the designated drop box.

— A man on South Lincoln Avenue reported at 6:30 a.m. July 19 that someone entered his vehicle through the passenger door and took the registration card. Police were called to a second residence on South Lincoln Avenue for four vehicles being entered, with the doors found open, along with the glove boxes and center consoles Nothing appeared to be missing.

Sheriff’s Office

— A woman from Echo Valley Road, Madison Township, reported at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday that someone opened a Verizon phone account in her name. She found out Tuesday when she received a bill in the mail from Verizon for $197. She did not open the account and when she called Verizon, they wouldn’t do anything without a police report.

— A deputy was dispatched at 3:20 a.m. Sunday for animal-related calls on Sprucevale Road, clearing at 3:32 a.m Sunday.

— A suspicious vehicle was reported at 3:05 a.m. Sunday on Pancake Clarkson Road in Middleton Township. Deputies were unable to locate any vehicles that matched the description.

— A noise complaint was reported at 11:26 p.m. Saturday on Bentwood Drive in Unity Township, but a deputy was unable to locate the source of the noise after sitting in the area for several minutes.

— A Lisbon man came to the sheriff’s office on County Home Road at 10:03 p.m. Saturday in Center Township to report he was having a medical issue. EMT transported him to Salem Regional Medical Center.

— A man on Cream Ridge Road reported at 8:52 p.m. Saturday that another man threatened him and wanted to fight him. He wanted a report on file.

— Rydar’s Corner Pocket, Front Street, Leetonia, called at 6:42 p.m. Saturday for a disturbance outside between a male and female. Upon arrival, staff said they left on a motorcycle with a Pennsylvania license plate eastbound on state Route 344.

— An unauthorized use of a vehicle was reported at 3:25 a.m. Saturday, but a short time later, the vehicle was returned with no charges filed.

— A woman in Unity Township reported at 7:28 p.m. Friday that she was selling an above ground swimming pool on Facebook Market for $600 and a man from Louisville, Ky. wrote her a check and mailed it to her for $1,980.30 from an account from a credit union in Kentucky. She said the bank account does not exist.

— A domestic dispute was reported at 5:50 p.m. Friday between a woman and her mother on Meadow Wood Drive, Butler Township. They signed a refusal.

— A woman on Darner Road, Elkrun Township, reported accounts were opened in her name, for credit card, cell phone, magazine and cash advance. She wanted a report on file.

— A caller at 6:18 a.m. Friday reported a suspicious vehicle at the end of his driveway in the mornings around 4:30 a.m. He was concerned the person was up to something illegal. Deputies will check on it when available.

— Deputies were dispatched at 12:06 a.m. Friday to a suspicious vehicle parked at Haiti Road and state Route 164, but upon arrival, the vehicle was gone. A vehicle matching the description was found at a Haiti Road address, but the owners said the vehicle had not left the yard.

— Deputies were dispatched at 2:35 a.m. July 29 to Crestview Road in Fairfield Township after a woman reported a male knocking on her door in the middle of the night. The male located was the neighbor and he returned home.

— A medical call was reported at 4:10 a.m. July 28 on Rose Drive. The person was transported to Salem Regional Medical Center.

Salem

— Officers spoke to a man at the police department at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a stolen bicycle. The man advised that a juvenile had his bicycle and had repainted it. Officers responded and the guardian returned the property to the man.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of Southeast Boulevard at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an unwanted person. The man in question has been living at the residence for three months, and due to having established residency, officers advised the caller they would need to evict the person. The homeowner was contacted and denied wanting the person to leave.

— Officers spoke to a woman by phone at 7:27 p.m. Tuesday regarding someone accessing her email and social media accounts. The caller advised that the person was asking them for their banking information, and officers advised them not to give any information out and to block the number.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East State Street at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday for an unwanted man. The man had left trash at the property previously and was possibly drinking and was advised to leave and not return.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Franklin Avenue at 7:07 p.m. Tuesday for report of debris in the roadway. Officers observed a man actively cutting grass and advised him to clean up the grass clippings when he was finished.

— Officers spoke to a man at the police department at 6:09 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a possible domestic that had occurred earlier in the day. The caller advised that he only wanted a protection order. Officers observed no visible injury and advised them to contact the courts in the morning.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of north Lincoln Avenue at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The caller advised that when she pulled into her driveway there were two trucks parked behind her house, that left shortly after. A license plate was gathered from a camera on the house, and officers advised the caller to contact them if they return.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of Franklin Avenue at 4:16 p.m. Tuesday for a possible scam. The caller advised that she received a call from an unknown person claiming she owed money for a vehicle and had attempted to obtain her information. The woman advised that she doesn’t drive and has not owned a car. Officer advised her not to give them any pertinent information and monitor their credit.

— Officers responded to the area of West Wilson Street at 1:19 p.m. Tuesday for a report of dogs at large. Officers were unable to locate the animals in question and contacted the humane agent to check the area.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of Vine Street at 11:58 a.m. Tuesday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that her adult brother had her phone and was refusing to return it. Officers spoke with the brother, and he returned the property.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of Prospect Street at 11:06 a.m. Tuesday for a reported juvenile problem. Officers spoke with the juvenile about the issues they were concerned about and responded to her mother’s place of employment and spoke with her. The juvenile’s mother advised she would take care of the issue when she got home.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 12:08 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a reckless driver. Officers located and followed the vehicle but did not observe any reckless behavior.

— Officers responded to a business in the 2700 block of East State Street at 9:03 p.m. Monday for a report of a large group of juveniles in the parking lot. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the juveniles.

— Officers spoke to a man at the police department at 5:29 p.m. Monday regarding a person he no longer wants on his property. Officers advised the caller of his options.

— Officers responded to the 2000 block of Monroe Street at 4:28 p.m. Monday for a wellness check on a city resident. Officers were unable to contact the person in question, but dispatch was able to contact a family member who advised that the person was at work. The person later called in to advise that they were at work and were fine.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Cleveland Street at 3:27 p.m. Monday for a report of a possible domestic dispute. Officers located the people in question involved in a verbal argument, with no physical violence reported. Officers advised both parties of the reason for the call.

— Officers spoke to a man at the police department at 2:59 p.m. Monday for a report of a possible missing person. The caller advised that the person in question had not been seen since Saturday but had taken all of her clothes from the house she was staying at. Officers advised the caller that because the person was an adult she could leave if she wanted to. The caller advised that other than the person not answering phone calls no other signs of wrongdoing appeared to have taken place.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Continental Drive at 1:38 p.m. Monday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that a resident had reported money missing from her room. Officers advised the caller of their options for dealing with the situation.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of South Lundy Avenue at 10:33 a.m. Monday for a 911 hang-up call. Officers checked the area and spoke with several people, all of whom advised they had not been the caller.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Second Street at 10:09 a.m. Monday for a report of criminal damaging. The caller advised his business’ window had been shot by a paintball gun. The caller also advised that no damage had been done to the window and they just wanted a report on file.

— Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 9:30 a.m. Monday regarding open burning in the city. Officers referred them to the fire department.

— Madison Daley, Salem, was cited for reasonable control after her westbound vehicle in the 1100 block of East 9th Street struck an unoccupied and legally parked vehicle owned by Billie Durham, Lisbon, at 8:02 a.m. Monday. No injuries were reported.
