County Sheriff
— A deputy dispatched at 12:50 a.m. Tuesday to North Price Road, Butler Township, spoke to a woman experiencing a mental health crisis. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
— A deputy was dispatched at 5:05 p.m. Monday to the New Waterford Police Department to handle a domestic dispute complaint that occurred in the 48000 block of Pancake Clarkson Road in Middleton Township between a male and female. They both signed a refusal to prosecute.
— A welfare check was requested at 8:02 p.m. Saturday at a residence on U.S. Route 62 in Butler Township. The person was fine.
— A disturbance was reported at 4:47 p.m. Saturday at a residence in the 600 block of Lisbon Road in Salem Township. The people who called had left. When a deputy attempted to make contact with the resident, both gates were closed and locked and contact was unable to be made.
— A man on 12th Street in Knox Township reported at 9:36 p.m. Jan. 6 that he co-signed for his ex-girlfriend to get a loan for a vehicle and now he wants to sign off. He was told to call an attorney.
— A woman at 6:19 p.m. Jan. 6 reported a property dispute with a man in the 600 block of Lisbon Road in Salem Township. She was told it’s a civil matter and to contact an attorney.
— A Yellow Creek Township resident on Mick Road reported at 4:06 p.m. Jan. 6 that a burglary occurred at his residence.
— A woman in the 41000 block of Alderlick Road, Madison Township, reported at 6:53 p.m. Jan. 5 that she wanted her brother removed from the residence. A deputy took Robert Cunningham Jr. into custody for outstanding warrants and transported him to the Columbiana County jail.
— A woman in the 42000 block of Sunset Drive, Yellow Creek Township, reported at 6:38 p.m. Jan. 5 that her daughter let people move into the residence. She was told it’s a civil matter and the eviction process was explained.
— A suspicious vehicle was reported stuck in the mud in a field across from a driveway on Westville Lake Road, Knox Township, at 4:57 p.m. Jan. 5. The owner of the field had already been contacted.
— A property owner in the 5400 block of Kirk Road in Fairfield Township reported at 4:24 p.m. Jan. 5 that garbage and tires were dumped in front of his residence.
— A woman on Jimtown Road, Unity Township, reported at 4:05 p.m. Jan. 5 that her aunt would not let her take her child from the residence and now she has her child and wanted a report on file.
— A woman in Columbus called at 10:59 p.m. Jan. 4 to request a welfare check on her father, who resides on Lisa Lane, Lisbon. No one was found at the residence.
— Trespassing was reported at 7:47 p.m. Jan. 4 in the 1900 block of Westville Lake Road, Knox Township.
— A woman in the 42000 block of Sunset Drive, Yellow Creek Township, called at 8:23 p.m. Jan 3 to report a theft at her residence.
Highway Patrol
— Billie Hackney, 44, Minerva, was cited for left of center, hit and skip, and driving under suspension after her eastbound vehicle on Ridge Road went left of center striking a vehicle driven by Justin Zehentbauer, 35, Minerva, at 10:13 p.m. Jan. 5 in West Township, after which she fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported.
East Palestine
— Officers responded to the 100 block of Hillside Drive at 5:58 p.m. Sunday in reference to a child custody dispute but found nothing criminal took place.
— Christopher Michael Smith, 32, no address listed, was charted with domestic violence after officers responded to a 100 block Park Avenue home at 3:18 p.m. Sunday in reference to a 911 hang up call in which screaming and crying could be heard in the background. Officers found Smith had been in a physical altercation with his girlfriend.
— A man reported on station at 2:51 p.m. Saturday someone with active warrants through another police agency had been using his personal information.
— A Wood Street resident reported at 2:50 p.m. Saturday she believed her neighbor was mistreating her outside cats which she feeds.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of East Highland Avenue at 5:16 p.m. Friday in reference to a dispute between a landlord and tenant. Officers provided information and both people separated.
— Officers conducted a welfare check on an East Main Street resident at 1:03 p.m. Friday and found that the resident was just having a bad day, with no thoughts of causing self harm.
— An East Palestine Middle School administrator requested assistance from the school resource officer in dealing with a student’s behavior at 9:32 a.m. Friday.
— Officers responded with medical personnel to a West Martin Street home at 12:41 a.m. Friday in reference to a woman down and CPR in progress. Narcan was administered and the woman came to, refusing further medical treatment.
— Officers spoke with a woman on station at 6:16 p.m. Thursday who reported concerns about her juvenile son taking obscene photos of himself and posting them online. The matter is under investigation.
— An East Palestine High School administrator requested assistance from the school resource officer regarding a student at 2:41 p.m. Thursday.
Salem
— Officers responded to the 300 block of West Fourth Street at 3:33 p.m. Monday to take a report of damage done to an apartment. Officers are waiting for photographs from the caller before sending the complaint to be reviewed by the municipal prosecutor.
— Officers on patrol in the area Penn Avenue and East State Street conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving violation at 1:05 p.m. Monday and recognized the driver, David Talbott, 32, East Liverpool, as being under suspension. K-9 Simon was deployed during the stop and contraband was located in the vehicle. The driver was cited for driving under suspension, sent on their way, and the vehicle was removed from the roadway by Sinsley’s towing.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Prospect Street at 10:48 a.m. Monday for a report of a two-vehicle accident with no injuries. A vehicle driven by Paul Jansinski, 58, Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, was backing out of a private drive onto the roadway and struck the right side of a vehicle driven by Rodney Manner, 41, Salem. Officers took photos of the damage and Jansinski was cited for improper backing.
— Officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of East 5th Street at 9:59 a.m. Monday for an animal complaint. Officers located the animal in question, and due to the nature of the call, contacted the human officer, who responded to the scene and spoke with the animal’s owner.
— Officers responded to the 1800 block of East State Street at 10:17 p.m. Monday to speak with a driver after receiving a complaint about them. The driver was advised of the complaint and asked not to repeat the behavior anymore, and the driver apologized.
Columbiana
— Tai Kotas, 42, homeless, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop on Fairfield Avenue at Duquesne Street at 6:36 p.m. Saturday.
— Michael Patrick Posey, 48, no address listed, was charged with criminal trespass after officers responded to a 1300 block Wardingley Avenue business at 7:45 a.m. Saturday where the owner reported seeing him on camera park his car in the parking lot and walk around the property. Surveillance footage from a neighboring business showed Posey climb into a dumpster, then flee on foot when officers arrived. He was arrested when he returned for his car.
— Lakey S. Mitchell, 20, Monaca, Pa., was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on Nulf Drive at state Route 14 at 12:57 a.m. Saturday.
— Dale Felger Jr., 45, Negley, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on state Route 7 near Columbiana Waterford Road at 11:41 p.m. Jan. 6.
— William D. Cunning, 45, Columbiana was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop on Albright Avenue at 8:40 p.m. Jan. 6.
— An individual reported on station at 11:19 a.m. Jan. 6 a fraudulent charge on his debit card.
— An officer responded to the first block of Ashli Lane at 11:41 p.m. Jan. 5 in reference to a possible suicidal individual. The individual was found to be fine and had just gone for a walk following a verbal argument. The people involved in the argument went their separate ways for the night.
— Matthew Conkle, 43, Leetonia, was charged with possessing drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop on Camelot Drive at 8:26 p.m. Jan. 5.
— Officers assisted the Columbiana County Drug Task Force with an investigation in the 300 block of West Salem Street at 5:12 p.m. Jan. 5 during which Tracy Miller, 48, Columbiana, was arrested for unspecified misdemeanor charges.
— A 43000 block Metz Road resident reported at 2:12 p.m. Jan. 4 someone had damaged her vehicle.
— Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 44000 block of state Route 14 at 3:51 a.m. Jan. 4 in which multiple items of contraband was seized. The driver was released from the scene.
— Sara Bauland, 30, Austintown, was charged with OVI and marked lanes following a traffic stop on Pittsburgh Street near Spruce Street at 1:31 a.m. Jan. 3.
— Zoey Eddleman, no age listed, Hanoverton, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on state Route 14 at Heck Road at 10:40 p.m. Jan. 2.
— Storage lockers were reported broken into at Industrial Drive Self Storage at 2:39 p.m. Jan. 2.
— Bailey Sean Riddle, 21, no address listed, was charged with disorderly conduct at 12:35 p.m. Jan. 2 after being warned earlier that morning.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Firestone Avenue for a disturbance at 6:02 a.m. Jan. 2.
— Nicole Creggar, 24, Hubbard, was charged with OVI, OVI breath and speed following a traffic stop at Factory 46 at 3:26 a.m. Jan. 1.
