County Sheriff

— Deputies were called at 1:30 a.m. Saturday to the 44000 block of Y & O Road, Madison Township, for a report of possible prowlers, but no one was found during a check of the area.

— A 58-year-old resident on state Route 45, Madison Township, reported at 12:13 p.m. Jan. 4 that his Ohio ID card and his debit card were stolen.

— A deputy was dispatched at 9:21 p.m. Jan. 3 to the 8800 block of Bayard Road, West Township, for a report of a male and female walking down the road, with the male yelling at the female. Nobody was found.

— A woman on High Street in Leetonia reported at 9:49 p.m. Jan. 3 that someone may be in her back yard due to her dog acting strange. A deputy checked the property and did not find anyone.

Highway Patrol

— Bradley Smith, 30, Lisbon, was cited for a stop sign violation after his northbound vehicle on Lower Elkton Road failed to stop at a stop sign, causing it to be struck by a vehicle driven by Amy Watson, 44, Lisbon, at 6:05 p.m. Dec. 30 in Fairfield Township. Smith was treated on scene by Columbiana EMS for suspected minor injuries and Watson was transported to Mercy Health Hospital Boardman for treatment for suspected minor injuries.

Salem

— Officers responded to the area of East Sixth Street and North Broadway Avenue at 5:14 p.m. Sunday for a report of a dog at large. The owner of the dog arrived on scene shortly after officers did. The owner took the dog inside and was given a verbal warning for dog at large.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of West State Street at 5:10 p.m. Sunday for a report of a reckless operator. Officers located the vehicle in question and conducted a traffic stop, speaking with the driver who was upset from a job interview. Officers determined everything checked okay.

— Officers checked East State Street from the 1700 block to the city limits for a reckless operator at 1:06 p.m. Sunday. Officers did not observe any vehicles matching the given descriptions and were unable to locate any issue.

— Officers responded to the 2300 block of East State Street at 6:58 a.m. Sunday for a report of a suspicious vehicle that had been parked in the plaza parking lot for three days in front of a business. Officers found the vehicle vacant and a red tag was placed inside the vehicle advising of the complaint.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of East Fourth Street at 5:35 a.m. Sunday for a speak with officer report. Officers spoke with the caller about their issue.

Perry Township

— Officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Depot Road and Snyder Road at 6:29 p.m. Sunday for expired registration. The driver, Brianne Trump, 31, was found to have a suspended license and was cited for expired registration and driving under suspension.

— Officers responded to the Salem Regional Medical Center at 4:10 p.m. Saturday to check for a man with an active warrant. Officers took Steve Colian, 42, into custody, and he was later transported to the Columbiana County Jail by the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office.
