–Officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of Walnut Street at 3:45 a.m. Monday to talk to a person regarding a possibly stolen bicycle. Officers advised them the issue wasn’t severe and appears to just be a dispute among his friends to attempt to get someone in trouble. The person was advised to contact the department if he had any further issues or if the matter worsened.
–Officers responded to a residence in the 2100 block of Southeast Boulevard at 9:16 p.m. Sunday for a wellness check. The caller advised her neighbor was acting off. Officers spoke with the neighbor and she decided to go to the hospital and speak with a doctor.
–Officers responded to the 2400 block of East State Street at 5:15 p.m. Sunday for a report of solicitors. Officers spoke to a man and advised him of the complaint.
–Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 4:39 p.m. about an ongoing issue. Officers advised them of their options and documented the information.
–Officers responded to the area of South Lundy Avenue and East Perry Street at 4:22 p.m. Sunday for a report of suspicious activity. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the women in question.
–Officers observed a man with an active warrant on West Pershing Street at 4:12 p.m. Sunday, stopping him and taking him into custody. The man, Vernon Ballard, 48, was transported back to the Salem Police Department for processing and then released to a Columbiana County Sheriff’s Deputy.
–Officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 3:53 p.m. Sunday for a report of a possible trespasser. Officers located three individuals known to be homeless. Officers checked prior police report history and confirmed that none of the individuals had been previously warned not to be on the property. Officers issued all of them a warning for trespassing and all three were advised that the warning was documented in the computer and if they were caught on the property again, they would be arrested. One of the three individuals was later confirmed to be wanted out of Columbiana County on a warrant and was taken into custody.
–Officers observed a known man being disorderly in the 300 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 2:47 p.m. Sunday. The man was yelling at someone in the area, using profanity. Officers warned him to cease and depart the area or he would be arrested. The individual departed without incident. Officers monitored the individual for a time thereafter and did not observe any further outbursts.
–Officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 10:14 a.m. Sunday for a neighbor dispute. The caller advised her neighbors moved out but recently came back and left a couch on her porch. Officers attempted to contact the neighbors at their new residence but were unable to make contact. Officers advised the caller to call the police department if she observed them coming home.
–Officers spoke to a man at the police department at 7:41 a.m. Sunday who was experiencing an anxiety attack. As a precaution first responders were contacted, and the man later confirmed that he didn’t need further medical attention. Officers spoke with the man for some time until he was feeling better and departed.
–A brown leather wallet found in the Butech parking lot was turned into the police department at 5:03 a.m. Sunday. The item was kept at the department for safekeeping.
–Officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of East Fifth Street at 2:19 a.m. Sunday for a loud music report. Officers spoke with the homeowner and instructed him to turn the music down, and he did so.
–Officers responded to the 600 block of Ohio Avenue at 9:49 p.m. Saturday for a report of juveniles in the roadway. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anybody.
–Officers responded to the 2000 block of Egypt Road at 5:54 p.m. Saturday to assist the Goshen Police Department with a traffic stop in which a passenger fled from the vehicle. Contact was made with the other officers who advised the direction of travel of the suspect. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person.
–Officers responded to a residence in the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue at 4:33 p.m. Saturday to speak with the caller. The caller advised officers that the neighbor’s kids were constantly running up and down the stairs, pounding on the walls at all hours and just being loud. Officers advised them a report would be on file and to let the building manager know. Officers spoke with the mother of the children and advised her of the complaint, and asked her to try to keep the kids from being too noisy.
