County Sheriff

— A Boston Street, Washingtonville woman reported at 11:11 p.m. Wednesday that people were sending messages to her fiance claiming they were going to assault her.

— A Roller Coaster Road, Elkrun Township woman reported at 11:41 p.m. Wednesday that her vehicle had been stolen in Canton. She was advised to contact Canton police.

— Following a report from her boyfriend that she was causing problems at a Rochester Road residence in West Township at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Andrea L. Gibson was taken into custody on outstanding warrants and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.

Columbiana

— Officers responded to a call about property damage at 3:49 p.m. Sunday at Harbell’s Marketplace state Route 14. Crops on the property at Harbell’s Market and Harvey’s Garden behind Firestone Farms were damaged. Police advised the caller this was a civil matter.

— Police responded to a crash at Sparkle Market’s parking lot at 8:33 a.m. Monday. No injuries were noted in the report.

— Andrew Partick, Cuyahoga Falls, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on state Route 7 at 9:52 a.m. Tuesday.

— A man was given a trespass warning at Save-A-Lot by request of the manager at 11:31 a.m. Tuesday.

— A library employee brought a lost purse into the station for safekeeping Tuesday at 7:20 p.m.

— Lareina Dothard, 35, of Youngstown was arrested on an outstanding warrant following a traffic stop at North Main and Seventh Street at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday.

— Heather Parker, 46, of Warren was arrested on an outstanding warrant at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday.

— Police took a report for a crash that happened in the McDonald’s parking lot at 5:16 p.m. Thursday.

Goshen

— Robert P. Lyda Jr., 28, Youngstown, was cite for unsafe vehicle following a two-vehicle crash in the 7600 block of Salem Unity Road at 5:42 p.m. June 7 in which eastbound when the steering locked up causing the vehicle to continue straight on a curve, entering the path of a westbound vehicle driven by Jared Conrad Malmsberry, 28, Youngstown. Malmsberry was treated on scene by Green Township EMS for possible injuries.

— Lucas Lee Gravley, 42, North Lima, was cited for driving under suspension, expired registration and a stop sign violation following a traffic stop at state routes 165 and 45 at 4 p.m. June 4.

— Amber Rose Burkey, 32, Deerfield, was charged with possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, following a traffic stop at state Route 14 and West Middletown Road at 7:41 p.m. June 1 in which she was found in possession of an Adderall pill. She was also wanted on a warrant out of Portage County for trafficking marijuana.

Leetonia

— Kayla Nicole Wardensky, 33, Cherry Fork Road, Leetonia, was charged with two counts of assault on a police officer, a fourth-degree felony; obstructing official business, a fifth-degree felony; resisting arrest; and possession of marijuana after officers responded to her home at 1:33 a.m. Thursday in reference to bags of items in the middle of the roadway. Columbiana police also responded due to a possible domestic situation upon learning that Wardensky had thrown the bags into the roadway following an argument with a man of the home, who had already left. Multiple items of marijuana were found in the home and Wardensky was arrested when she tried to lock an officer out of the bathroom. She resisted arrested, kicking and scratching officers. Once Wardensky was under control, Leetonia EMS responded to evaluate the officers as well as Wardensky, who complained of a numb arm and swollen finger.

— An officer responded to the 100 block of High Street at 9:11 a.m. Wednesday after a resident reported his home security system alerted him to a vehicle at the home. The officer spoke with the man who said he was a representative for a factory in Pennsylvania and was at the home for a sales call. Upon further discussion it was found the representative was to be at a home in the 100 block of High Street in Washingtonville.

— An officer responded to the area of South County Line Road and Union Street in Washingtonville at 7:12 p.m. Tuesday to assist Washingtonville police on a search of a vehicle during a traffic stop. Contraband was seized and Washingtonville police cited the driver.

— An officer responded to the 700 block of Cherry Valley Drive at 8:54 p.m. June 13 where a Salem man reported the resident had been watching his child the past few days and was now refusing to let him retrieve his child and belongings from the home. The resident was found to be intoxicated and denied preventing the complainant from retrieving the child and belongings. The officer stood by until the complainant left the scene with his child.

— An officer responded with the fire department to the 400 block of Columbia Street at 12:46 p.m. June 10 where a resident reported the smell of something burning and smoke in the bathroom on the second floor of her residence. Traffic control was provided while the fire department investigated the situation, ultimately finding everything to be fine.

— Michael Pallone Jr., no age or address listed, was arrested on an active warrant out of Youngstown for domestic violence following a traffic stop on state Route 344 near West Main Street at 8:17 p.m. June 7.

East Liverpool

— Officers responded to the area of Monroe and Fifth streets at 2:41 a.m. Thursday in reference to a man acting erratic. Officers observed the man for several minutes before speaking to him and determined he could not leave on his own. A family members was contacted to pick him up.

— Officers responded to the Broadway Wharf at 12:26 a.m. Thursday in reference to two people having sex in the bathroom. Officers found the two people sitting outside the bathroom in various states of undress, but they denied doing anything inappropriate. They were told they had been camping out too long at the wharf and were trespassed from city property.

— A caller reported at 10:11 p.m. Wednesday a person she knows was threatening to post personal photographs of her online.

— Officers responded to the Broadway Wharf at 2:03 a.m. Wednesday where a caller reported he was fishing with two friends when he observed someone with a dog throwing knives at a board on the ramp side. He said at some point the man throwing knives began acting erratic and yelling at them that he was not crazy before walking off.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Woodland Hills at 1:32 a.m. Wednesday in reference to possible drug use behind an apartment building. Officers were unable to find anyone.

— Officers responded to the East Liverpool hospital at 12:44 a.m. Wednesday to remove someone who was not allowed on the property. The man said he was not aware he wasn’t allowed on the property and requested transportation to his mother’s house, where it was found he also wasn’t allowed to be. He was ultimately left at Lisbon Street home for the night.

— A woman reported at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday she was eastbound on Ceramic Street when someone threw an object at her vehicle at the intersection of North Street, causing damage to the left rear trunk lid.

— Officers responded to a 700 block Sophia Street at 11:21 p.m. Tuesday in reference to a domestic dispute and found that the residents were yelling at their juvenile daughter. They said they would keep the noise down for the rest of the night.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of Illinois Street at 9:25 p.m. Tuesday in reference to a possible overdose and found the victim alert. The victim’s father had administered one dose of Narcan through the victim’s nose and the victim refused medical treatment.

— A woman reported at 8:05 p.m. Tuesday her juvenile son was bit on the hand by a dog while at a friend’s house on Wyoming Avenue, requiring a trip to the hospital. An officer spoke with the dog’s owner who said the dog was in the trash when the juvenile attempted to pick something up, at which point the dog bit him. A report was sent to the health department and dog warden.

— Officers responded to a 300 block Moore Street home at 8:17 p.m. Tuesday where a caller reported being in an argument with someone at the home who threw a blood pressure cuff at him, striking his arm. The caller said he wanted the other person to leave, but ultimately agreed to leave for the night.

— Officers responded to the area of Myler Road at 7:03 p.m. Tuesday in reference to people passed out in a vehicle but could not find anybody.

— A woman reported at 4:11 p.m. Tuesday she recently moved out of a Bradshaw Avenue house and now the landlord was taking her mail and putting it in the house, but not letting her in to get it. She was advised to contact Wellsville police where the landlord lives, as well as the post office.

— Officers responded to a 300 block North Shadylane home at 4:06 a.m. Tuesday in reference to a domestic and found one of the people involved sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot who said he was just having a verbal argument with his girlfriend and wanted to cool down. His girlfriend confirmed his statement.

— Jason A. Milliron, 44, no address listed, was charged with OVI, refusal to test and no headlights following a traffic stop on Wedgewood Street at 1:04 a.m. Tuesday.

— Officers responded to the church on College Street at 12:07 a.m. Tuesday in reference to drug activity. Officers checked the perimeter of building and surrounding area, finding no one there.

— Officers responded to a 900 block Denver Street home at 10:27 p.m. Monday in reference to a man shoving a woman down and found it to be another false call to the home.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Thompson Avenue at 9:03 p.m. Monday where a woman reported a she had been drinking with someone in the home when the person got upset about the amount of beer she brought. The woman said the other person attempted to open a screen door and his fist went through it, almost striking her, then he left in his car. Officers checked the area but were unable to find the person.

— An officer at 7:47 p.m. Monday observed a truck blocking Ashton Avenue with plates that expired in 2020. The officer had given the owner several verbal warnings in the past to not block the roadway and get valid plates. The vehicle was impounded and the owner issued a parking ticket.

— A person reported at 2:55 p.m. Monday a woman she knows was sitting in a vehicle in the middle of the road when she passed and the woman turned around, following her home then kept driving.

Salem

— Officers responded to East Third Street at 2:34 a.m. for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The caller complained of a vehicle sitting outside his residence. Officers spoke with a man who said he was visiting his girlfriend, and a woman who confirmed the man was her boyfriend.

–Officers responded to West Fourteenth Street at 8:02 am Thursday for an accident report. At around 9 p.m. Wednesday an individual damaged their vehicle in a ditch undergoing construction on South Ellsworth Avenue leaving Consumer Bank. The driver wanted a report on file as damage was done to the vehicle. No injuries were reported.

— Officers responded to the 1500 block of Southeast Boulevard at 9:22 a.m. Thursday for a possible computer hacking. Officers arrived and resolved the issue.

–Officers responded to a retirement home on Benton Road at 9:46 a.m. Thursday for an aggressive patient refusing to go to the hospital. Upon police arrival the patient went to the hospital without issue.

–Officers spoke to Franklin Street a woman on the phone at 11:29 a.m. Thursday about her vehicle possibly being tampered with.

–Officers responded to the 1700 block of Maple Street at 11:34 a.m. Thursday for a report of a dog tied in a yard with no water. Officers found a beagle in a shaded portion of the yard, the beagle appeared healthy, and was friendly. Officers found the dog’s food and water dishes full near the base of a tree and in reach.

–Officers responded to the 200 Block of East Seventh Street at 1:31 p.m. Thursday for reports of a roaming dog. Upon arrival officers met with the caller who had successfully managed to bring the dog indoors. The dog was collected from the caller’s residence by the owners, and the owners were informed that should the dog roam loose again they would be cited.

–A Broadway Avenue woman reported receiving a suspicious phone call at 1:32 p.m. Thursday. The caller said their first name and after the woman answered “Yes” they hung up. No unauthorized transactions had occurred. Upon calling the number officers were connected to an automated message claiming to be a national police fundraiser. Officers were unable to connect to a human caller. The woman was advised to inform her bank of the situation and have them monitor her account for suspicious transactions.

–An East State Street business reported at 1:37 p.m. Thursday that an angry customer was creating a disturbance in the parking lot. The man was angry that staff had gone on lunch break before they arrived to pick up their prescription. The customer departed prior to police arrival and the business was advised to contact them when he returned.

— A South Broadway Avenue woman filed a report at 2:41 p.m. Thursday in regard to an ongoing issue with a male coworker. Police advised the woman they would talk to the coworker about the issue.

–Officers responded to East State Street at 3:13 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check. Officers successfully contacted the resident, who said all was fine.

–Officers spoke to a Lundy Avenue woman about potential phone harassment at 4:26 p.m. Thursday, advising her of her options.

–An East Fourth Street man reported at 5:09 p.m. Thursday that his wife had assaulted him. Officers took photos and a report was filed.

–Officers responded to a park on Court Drive at 7:27 p.m. Thursday for reports of a suspicious man walking around the park and making inappropriate comments to minors. Officers spoke to the man who said he was merely trying to make some friends and be friendly. Officers requested he leave and the man complied.

–Officers responded to the 1800 block of East Third Street at 8:07 p.m. Thursday for a dirt bike being driven in the road. Officers were unsuccessful in their attempt to locate the dirt bike in question.

–Officers responded to the 300 block of Rose Avenue at 9:03 p.m. Thursday for a domestic in progress. Officers spoke with two women who explained there had been no physical violence. The man had already departed prior to police arrival.

–Officers responded to the intersection of Cedar Ridge Drive and Southeast Boulevard at 10:29 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check. The officers located the woman who informed them she was walking to the bank. Officers offered the woman a ride to the bank and back, but she refused. Officers deemed all was well.

–Officers responded to North Madison Avenue at 12:06 a.m. Friday for a noise complaint. Officers checked the area and all was quiet.

–Officers responded to North Madison Avenue at 12:44 a.m. Friday for a noise complaint. Officer made contact with a man at his residence and informed him of the complaint.

–Officers responded to the 200 Block of South Broadway Avenue at 1:08 a.m. Friday for a wellness check of a man lying in the grass. Officers located the man and requested local fire department and EMT evaluate the man. The man was transported to Salem Regional Medical Center for treatment.

–Officers responded to the 1000 Block of East Pershing Street at 1:20 a.m. Friday in relation to a theft report. The caller explained a white man approximately 5 feet, 10 inches or 5 feet, 11 inches tall in a red hoodie had stood in her yard staring up at her before fleeing the property westbound toward Ohio Avenue. Upon arrival police searched for the suspect but found nobody. The SD card of a trail camera in the caller’s yard had been stolen. Officers advised her to keep her doors locked, and that they would check the area for anyone matching the description

–Officers responded to the area of South Howard and West Wilson at 1:51 a.m. Friday for a curfew violation. Officers noticed two teenage women walking, and stopped to check their age for a possible curfew violation. It was determined they were 16, and violating Salem curfew. However, as the women were only a few hundred feet from their homes they were informed of Salem’s curfew hours, and officers ensured they returned home safely.

–Officers responded to a business on the 400 Block of South Broadway Avenue at 2:18 a.m. Friday for a man that needed to be removed. When officers arrived a man was walking out of the business. Upon speaking with staff, officers confirmed this was the man needing removed, and informed him he needed to leave.

–Officers responded to the 400 Block of Franklin Street at 2:50 a.m. Friday for a suspicious activity report. Officers checked an unoccupied apartment the caller thought might have people within, finding it empty.

–Officers responded to the 400 Block of East State at 4:02 a.m. Friday upon hearing an alarm from a business. Officers checked the business exterior and all doors were found to be secure and without signs of forced entry.

–Officers responded to the area of Southeast Boulevard and South Lincoln Avenue at 8:36 a.m. Friday for reports of a suspicious man. Officers attempted unsuccessfully to find the man upon arrival.

–Officers responded to the 300 block of East State Street at 9:08 a.m. Friday for reports of an alarm being triggered. The company called and canceled the alarm prior to police arrival.

–Police responded to the 600 block of Washington Avenue at 10:31 a.m. Friday when a tree fell on the roof of a garbage truck. The street department blocked the road until the tree could be safely removed.

–At Franklin Avenue at 10:38 a.m. Friday, a woman returned what was mistakenly thought to be mail to an officer.

–A Liberty Street woman reported at 10:41 a.m. Friday, that a man screamed at her and called her derogatory names while she was walking her dog.

–Officers responded at the fire department’s request to the 800 block of East 3rd Street at 10:55 a.m. Friday for a man down. The department requested an officer respond due to the conditions at the scene. The man was transported by ambulance to Salem Regional Medical Center, and officers documented the scene and conducted a brief investigation.
