Salem

— An officer responded to the area of Franklin Avenue and Whinnery Road at 2:39 p.m. Sunday to assist the highway patrol on a traffic stop. A K9 officer indicated the presence of a narcotic odor and a search of the vehicle revealed a quantity of marijuana.

— Police responded with the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force to the 100 block of West State Street at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. A male individual was taken into custody by the task force agents and taken back to the Salem station for processing. A search of the man’s vehicle revealed a small amount of marijuana, marijuana paraphernalia and an open container of alcohol. Offices seized $150 in cash as evidence.

— An officer assisted the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force with an investigation near the 100 block of West State Street at 12:07 p.m. Sunday. Agents had the individual for a minor violation and processed the individual at the scene.

— An officer responded to the 400 block of Continental Drive at 11:47 a.m. Sunday in reference to a runaway juvenile. The juvenile was found while the officer was en route and returned to his mother. While the officer was on scene, the mother and juvenile got into a verbal altercation and the juvenile was taken to the police station to wait to be picked up by his father.

— Officers assisted the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force with an investigation at 11:01 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of West State Street. Offices seized $180 in case as evidence.

— Officers responded to the intersection of Mound Street and Washington Avenue at 1:40 a.m. Sunday in reference to a motorcycle crash in which the 31-year-old driver had been drinking and took the keys for the motorcycle from the owner after being told not to. The driver traveled approximately 500 feet before losing control and crashing in the 800 block of Washington Avenue. First responders arrived to tend to the driver, who was ultimately transported to St. Elizabeth’s Health Center in Youngstown due to a severe head injury. Once released from the hospital the driver will be cited for OVI, no motorcycle endorsement and failure to control.

— Officers responded to the area of North Broadway Avenue and Sugartree Alley at 12:58 a.m. Sunday in reference to people possibly rooting through a dumpster and walking away with items. Officers were unable to find the people in question.

— Todd O. Dean, 42, Aetna Street, Salem, was arrested on an active warrant out of Columbiana County after officers saw him in the 1700 block of East State Street at 12:04 a.m. Sunday and knew him have the warrant.

— Officers spoke to a man on station at 11:30 p.m. Saturday who said a male individual had shoved his daughter. Officers took the report and said they would make contact the male.

— Craig Coffman, 40; and Ashley Sekely, 39, both of Union Avenue, Washingtonville, were arrested on active warrants out of Columbiana County after a patrolling officer saw them in the 900 block of East State Street at 10:55 p.m. Saturday and knew them have the warrants.

— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue at 10:32 p.m. Saturday in reference to a domestic dispute. Officers spoke with one of the people involved and learned that nothing physical had taken place and the other person involved had already left.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of East Perry Street at 9:48 p.m. Saturday in reference to a runaway juvenile. While officers were checking the area the juvenile returned home.

— An officer responded to the are of South Lincoln Avenue and East State Street at 9:29 p.m. Saturday to check for a large amount of oil on the sidewalk. A vehicle from the cruise reportedly drove over the curb, damaging the undercarriage. The oil was found and the fire department responded to clean it up.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of East Third Street at 9:19 p.m. Saturday in reference to reports of individuals performing indecent acts that could be seen through their window by neighbors. They were advised of the complaint.

— Officers responded to the 1500 block of Southeast Boulevard at 8:51 p.m. Saturday in reference to a domestic dispute and found that it was a verbal argument in which someone was accidentally locked in his room and broke a window to get out. No medical treatment was needed.

— James M. Italiano, 39, North Jackson, was cited for assured clear distance ahead following a two-vehicle crash at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in which he was westbound in the 2200 block of East State Street and failed to stop for traffic, striking the rear of a vehicle driven by Jovan I. Gearo, 19, Case Street, Beloit. No injuries were reported.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 6:23 p.m. Saturday in reference to harassment. Officers found no threats were made and the other person involved had already left.

— Officers spoke with a Southeast Boulevard resident by phone at 5:24 p.m. Saturday regarding suspicious activity on her social media. She was advised of her options.

— A lost juvenile was brought to the station at 5 p.m. Saturday. An officer walked with the juvenile until his mother was found. The mother said she returned to her friend’s house where her daughter was supposed to be watching the juvenile, but found him missing.

— Jason Thomas Ramsey, 40, South Lincoln Avenue, Salem, was charged with theft after officers responded to the 2800 East State Street at 2:29 p.m. Saturday where he allegedly failed to scan $235.87 worth of merchandise at the self checkout.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue at 2:11 p.m. Saturday where a resident reported a $126 charge to her bank card without her authorization.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of East State Street at 11 a.m. Saturday in reference to a dispute. Both people involved were told to stay away from each other until one of them could get a ride to leave.

— An officer was flagged down at 3:55 a.m. Saturday and advised of juveniles knocking over Port-o-Johns on South Broadway Avenue being used for the Super Cruise. The officer checked the area but the juveniles were already gone. There was one Port-o-John found knocked over onto the street.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of East State Street at 1:08 a.m. Saturday where a resident wanted a woman removed from the property. The woman was found to have been living there for approximately a month and the complainant was advised of the eviction process.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 12:48 a.m. Saturday in reference to a possible sex offense. The matter is under investigation.

— Malachi Hall, 19, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead following a two-vehicle crash on East State Street near North Union Avenue at 10:57 p.m. Friday in which he was westbound and failed to stop for traffic striking the rear of a vehicle driven by Timothy Custer, 48, Salem. No injuries were reported.

— Officers responded to a 2800 block East State Street business at 10:22 p.m. Friday where a woman reported two women she knows had keyed the hood of her vehicle. The matter is under investigation.

— Kylee J. Johns, 18, Wellsville, was cited for assured clear distance ahead following a two-vehicle crash on South Lincoln Avenue at Columbia Street at 9:50 p.m. Friday in which she was northbound and failed to stop for traffic, striking the rear of a vehicle driven by Thomas Alesi, 83, Fall Branch, Tenn. A passenger in Johns’ vehicle had a suspected injury and was transported by ambulance to the Salem hospital.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of West Pershing Street at 6:44 p.m. Friday to check the well-being of a juvenile after a caller residing in Indiana said the juvenile had recently been kicked out of her grandmother’s home in Niles. Officers spoke with the juvenile who said she was fine and allowed to stay the current home. The complainant and Trumbull County Children Services were made aware of the situation.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of East Perry Street at 4:57 p.m. Friday where a resident reported his juvenile daughter, who has an ankle bracelet, had left the home. The juvenile was found and returned home.

— An officer responded to a 200 block West State Street business at 3:41 p.m. Friday where an employee reported a customer had placed items in her pockets, but handed at least some of them back to the cashier before leaving. The officer found the suspect in the 100 block of South Howard Avenue and she insisted she didn’t take any items. She was told not to return to the business.

— A patrolling officer was flagged down in the 400 block of East State Street at 3:09 p.m. Friday in reference to a public parking space that had been blocked off in front of a business. The officer determined no one had permission to block off the space and attempted to contact the business without success. The cones were moved from the space and placed in front of the business with a note explaining why they had been moved.

— Police responded to the 400 block of Franklin Avenue at 2:24 p.m. Friday in reference to a domestic and found a verbal argument between two members of the household. One of the persons involved said she had a no contact order against the other person. An officer made the court aware of the incident and the person was ultimately told they had to leave the residence.

— An officer responded to the intersection of East State Street and Lincoln Avenue at 1:47 p.m. Friday in reference to a two-vehicle crash in which a driver was stopped in the left turn lane on East State Street then struck another vehicle while attempting to get back in the eastbound lane. No injuries were reported and no citations issued.

– Police responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 12:29 p.m. Friday to assist the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force investigate a sex offense. A man was transported back to the station for further investigation and $100 cash was seized as evidence.

East Liverpool

— Officers at 1:50 a.m. Saturday assisted an employee at a St. Clair Avenue business in removing patrons at closing time.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of Armstrong Lane at 12:12 a.m. Saturday in reference to a possible domestic and were met by a woman screaming profanity rapidly approaching the cruiser while being held back by her husband. An investigation revealed the woman was intoxicated after visiting a neighbor’s home and her PTSD was triggered by something someone said. Police spoke with the neighbors and one of them had minor injury to head that he said was caused by the woman, but that he did not want to pursue the matter.

— Police responded to North Elementary at 9:34 p.m. Friday where a juvenile could be seen on video tampering with the doors. Officers were unable to find the juvenile.

— James Chester Pugh, 32, no address listed, was charged with public intoxication after officers responded with medical personnel to a possible overdose in the 200 block of West Seventh Street at 7:33 p.m. Friday and found him in the back yard with labored breathing. He was administer four doses of Narcan before coming to and admitted to taking Percocet 30 without a prescription. He was transported to the East Liverpool hospital for treatment.

St. Clair Township

— Officers responded with medical personnel to the 14000 block of Cannon Mills Road at 11:50 a.m. Saturday for a medical call. The victim was transported by ambulance to the East Liverpool hospital.

— Officers responded to a state Route 170 business at 10:33 a.m. Saturday in reference to an upset customer.

— David Wilkinson, no age or address listed, was cited for no driver’s license and improper display following a traffic stop on state Route 7 at 11:36 a.m. Friday.

— Norman I. Shields, 51, no address listed, was arrested on an active warrant out of East Liverpool Municipal Court following a traffic stop on St. Clair Avenue at 4 a.m. Friday in which he was a passenger.

— Amie S. Prager, 38, Burgettstown, Pa., was cited for assured clear distance ahead following a two-vehicle crash in the 16000 block of St. Clair Avenue at 4:07 p.m. Thursday in which she was southbound and failed to stop for traffic, striking the rear of a vehicle driven by Jerry B. Mostella, 43, Salineville, who was waiting to make a left turn onto McCoy Avenue. Both drivers were evaluated on scene.

— Nicolas J. Ludovici, 24, East Liverpool, was cited for assured clear distance ahead following a two-vehicle crash in the 16000 block of state Route 267 at 6:53 p.m. Wednesday in which he was northbound and failed to stop for traffic, striking the rear of a vehicle driven by Steven R. Boyd, 53, Wellsville, who was waiting to make a left turn onto Annesely Road. All occupants in both vehicles were treated on scene.
