— Police were called with firefighters for a smoke investigation at 10:16 p.m. Wednesday at Roosevelt and East Third Street, smelling an odor of fresh fireworks, but not finding the cause.
— An officer at 9:53 p.m. Wednesday saw a suspicious vehicle at Waterworth Memorial Park and made contact. The owner was unaware of park hours and was leaving.
— A well-being check was requested at 8:27 p.m. Wednesday on a female in the 400 block of Ohio Avenue. She was there and told to contact the caller.
— A caller at 7:57 p.m. Wednesday reported a male beating a dog severely in the 200 block of Hawley Avenue. The male, who owned the dog, said another dog was off leash in the area and they were trying to keep their dog, a pit bull mix, from attacking the other dog. The dog was ok and appeared to be in good health with no injuries.
— A woman on West 10th Street reported a scam at 6:41 p.m. Wednesday, saying an unknown male called pretending to be her grandson and said he was in jail, but needed her to contact his attorney. The unknown male provided her with a case number but no money was exchanged and no personal information was given to him.
— Juveniles were reported fishing in the duck pond at Waterworth Memorial Park at 5:31 p.m. Wednesday, but were already gone.
— Ryan Thompson, last known address state Route 154, Lisbon, was taken into custody Wednesday in the 100 block of West Pershing Street on a warrant and turned over to a sheriff’s office deputy.
— Police responded at 5:11 p.m. Wednesday to the 1300 block of Carole Drive for a civil matter involving custody and a dispute over who was picking up a child. The mother was told her options.
— Police were called at 4:51 p.m. Wednesday to the 200 block of Woodland Avenue for juveniles driving in a back yard in a blue sedan. Officers arrived and saw three female juveniles exiting the vehicle. They denied driving it, saying they were just sitting in the vehicle. There were tire marks in the grass and the vehicle had been operated recently. A parent of one of the juveniles was contacted and the juvenile was told the consequences of driving in the yard.
— Cassidy Brown, 22, East Main Street, Washingtonville, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after her westbound vehicle struck the rear of another westbound vehicle driven by Charles Moore, 36, East Sixth Street, on East State Street at 4:32 p.m. Wednesday. A passenger in the Moore vehicle, 42-year-old Tiffany Moore, was transported to the hospital by EMT for a neck injury.
— A man in the 500 block of West Wilson Street reported at 4:16 p.m. Wednesday that his neighbor took down his fence in his back yard while he was trimming the trees. He gave the neighbor permission to trim the trees in the back. He only wanted his fence put back up. Police were unable to reach the neighbor.
— Police were called at 3:26 p.m. Wednesday to the 1400 block of East State Street for a female destroying items in a residence and possibly threatening to harm herself. A male said she was acting out of control and there was no physical violence. She told police she was upset due to commotion inside the residence while she was sleeping and did not make any threats or have thoughts of self-harm. The male said she could stay as long as she calmed down. She said she would.
— Police at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday spoke to a woman about a female she let stay with her. She was advised of Ohio residency laws and to call police if she has any issues.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 1:37 a.m. Wednesday in reference to a woman who entered an apartment complex and stole clothing from the laundry room.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of Newgarden Avenue at 11:31 p.m. Tuesday where a resident wanted a woman removed from a home. The resident was advised that the woman in question lives at the home and would need evicted. The woman in question said she would be leaving as soon as she was able to get all her belongings out of the front yard.
— Officers responded to the 700 block of East Fifth Street at 10:35 p.m. Tuesday in reference to a suicidal person, who admitted to harming herself. Medical personnel responded and the woman was ultimately transported to the Salem hospital.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of Newgarden Avenue at 10:17 p.m. Tuesday and stood by while a woman collected personal belongings from a home to move out.
— Officers responded to a 900 block East State Street business at 10:16 p.m. Tuesday where an employee reported a clear bag with white powder like residue inside had fallen out of the pocket of a customer. Video footage was gathered for further investigation.
— An officer was requested to meet KLG Ambulance at city limits on South Lincoln Avenue at 8:19 p.m. Tuesday to assist with an 8-year-old juvenile being transported from Lisbon to the Salem hospital who had become combative with personnel. The officer followed the ambulance to the hospital and escorted personnel with the patient into the hospital without incident.
— Officers responded to the area of Filbert Avenue and East Wilson Street at 7:43 p.m. Tuesday in reference to a suspicious man and found the man to be highly intoxicated. The man was given a courtesy ride to the 800 block of Franklin Avenue.
— Officers responded to Centennial Park at 7:03 p.m. Tuesday in reference to multiple people at the basketball court using inappropriate language and playing loud music. The people were told to keep the music down and watch their language in courtesy to other people in the park.
