East Palestine

— On Sunday evening officers stopped a car on East Main Street for speeding up and down Garfield Avenue and Wood Street.

— Laura Berstler, was charged with driving under suspension Saturday afternoon during a traffic stop in the McDonalds parking lot. Berstler’s passenger Jeffrey White was also charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

— Dispatch received a report of an open door at a residence along South Market Street Friday afternoon.

— A man refused to leave the premises at the Circle K on North Market Street Friday morning before an officer advised if he did not leave he would be charged.

— An administrator at East Palestine Middle School requested assistance from the school resource officer regarding a students behavior Thursday.


— Police responded at 7:46 a.m. Tuesday to the 800 block of East Fourth Street for a fight in progress, learning the altercation was a verbal dispute over personal issues and property. Both persons were told their options. Officers called the fire department and city housing inspector to respond due to living conditions and trash accumulated around the residence.

— A medical situation was reported on Barclay Avenue at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday. Officers stood by until EMT transported the person.

— A water line break was reported in the 500 block of South Union Avenue at 2:33 a.m. Tuesday, with the source of the complaint found in the 600 block. The water department was advised.

— A suspicious vehicle was reported at 10:34 p.m. Monday occupied in the lot of a closed business in the 500 block of East Pershing Street. A man in the vehicle said he was having equipment issues.

— A woman in the 1600 block of South Lincoln Avenue reported at 8:37 p.m. Monday that she was being harassed by several people on social media, including some who were out of state.

— An ambulance was requested at 7:24 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of Jennings Avenue. Officers stood by while the person was transported to Salem Regional Medical Center by KLG.

— A domestic was reported at 6:20 p.m. Monday in the 900 block of West Wilson Street where a juvenile struck his mother’s boyfriend in the leg. During the investigation, the victim was advised of the juvenile process and became uncooperative and refused to identify himself to officers. After several attempts, the victim, Fred Jordan, 35, West Wilson Street, was taken into custody on a charge of obstructing official business and taken to jail. The juvenile was placed under arrest for domestic violence and released to a guardian.

— A juvenile problem was reported at 4:43 p.m. Monday in the 900 block of East Fourth Street. The people involved were told their options.

Perry Township

— A resident on Pembrooke Drive reported at 11:03 a.m. Saturday that their social security number was used to file taxes. They were contacted by the IRS and a report is on file. A few months ago, the resident said their credit card was fraudulently used to purchase items and was cancelled. The credit card company removed the charges and no money was lost.

— A domestic was reported at 3:40 a.m. Saturday on Benton Road where a woman said she and her live-in boyfriend argued over sleeping arrangements. No assaults or threats occurred, but she wanted him gone from the residence. He took off on foot before police arrived and could not be found. She was told her options, including filed an eviction notice in court.

— A medical was reported at 1:52 a.m. Saturday in the 1200 block of North Lincoln Avenue with the fire department and KLG also responding and KLG transporting the person to the hospital.

— Police were called at 2:29 p.m. Friday to Blossom Nursing Home for an allegation of a man not being cared for. Police spoke to nursing staff and determined the man had just arrived at the facility the night before and was under a doctor’s care. The family insisted that he be taken to the emergency room. EMT ambulance arrived and he was transported.

— A domestic between a husband and wife was reported at 5:10 p.m. Thursday in the 1400 block of West State Street and a crisis call was also received from the female involved. She requested medical transport due to a previous incident. The husband told police while driving in Damascus, the female threatened to kill and struck him. The Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office was notified since that incident occurred in their jurisdiction. She was taken by KLG to the hospital.

— A man in the 1100 block of Prospect Street reported at 4:47 p.m. Thursday that medicines and money were stolen from a vehicle.

County Sheriff

— Deputies checked on a woman at Deer Run off of U.S. Route 62 at 9:28 p.m. Sunday after a friend became concerned about her, but she was found to be with her mother and fine.

— ATVs were reported driving on the roadway in the area of Lusk Lock Road at 7:34 p.m. Sunday. Deputies did not find any in the area.

— The state Highway Patrol asked deputies to assist with an animal call on state Route 154 at 7:07 p.m. Sunday when there were no troopers available. Deputies checked the route and found it safe for travel.

— Deputies responded to the area of Mattix Road near Black Road to check on a deer at the request of the state Highway Patrol at 9:23 p.m. Saturday. The deer was found with life threatening injuries and removed from the roadway.

— Someone was reported sitting in a Jersey Ridge Road, Salem Township, vehicle with a flashlight at 11 p.m. Saturday. Deputies found a woman in the vehicle, which had a flat tire. She was waiting for AAA and told deputies she was fine.

— Someone reported loud yelling and dirt bikes running near a home on Mick Road in Yellow Creek Township at 12:53 a.m. Saturday. Deputies checked the area, but found no loud yelling from the home and no ATVs running.

— A West Main Street, Salineville, resident reported at 11:11 p.m. Friday they were breaking up and he wanted his girlfriend to come get the rest of her property from his house, but she said she did not have room They made arrangements for her to come get her property in the end.

— Deputies and the Highway Patrol went to Votaw Drive, Hanover Township, at 7:32 p.m. April 22 where someone reported an elderly woman going through cars. Deputies found the woman and contacted her daughter, who said her mother has been having medical issues and the family had been trying to get her help. The daughter picked her up and took her to another family member, who has a power of attorney.

— A Steubenville Pike, Center Township, woman reported at 6:27 p.m. April 22 someone taped a note on the inside of one of the windows in the home and changed the locks on her house. She was told to have her attorney contact the prosecutor about the situation.

— The Washingtonville VFW reported a woman at the club whom they wanted removed at 9:19 p.m. Thursday. The woman left before deputies arrived.

— Deputies responded to the Salineville American Legion at 10:47 p.m. April 21 after someone reported a man was intoxicated and walking toward vehicles in that area. Deputies checked the area, but did not find him. He was later reported walking toward the baseball fields and deputies checked the west side of Salineville, but did not find him.

— An Eagleton Road, Center Township, woman reported at 6:42 p.m. Friday the father of her daughter has the girl at his home in Jefferson County and told her he is not going to return her until 7 p.m. in Salineville.

— A McHenry, Madison Township, resident reported at 2:54 p.m. Thursday he was having ongoing issues with people speeding on the roadway.

— A domestic dispute was reported by an West Oregon Avenue, Sebring, resident at 6:11 p.m. Thursday. The dispute allegedly happened with his wife in the 28000 block of U.S. Route 62 in Butler Township. A warrant for domestic violence and aggravated menacing was issued for the wife, Heather M. Davis.

— Someone reported a child acting out in the area of the 41000 block of state Route 39 in Yellow Creek Township at 8:05 p.m. April 24, but it was determined to be a 26-year-old person released from a mental facility recently. he attempted to hide from deputies in the bathroom and was talking about people out to get him and looking into the windows of his home. He was transported by Lifeteam Ambulance for mental help.

— Sebring police transported a man to a Scott Drive residence after finding him walking on U.S. Route 62 at 8:05 p.m. April 23 and reported it to deputies afterward. They had no information about the man. Deputies went to the home, but did not locate anyone there.

— A fight was reported at a Rose Drive apartment in Center Township at 10:07 p.m. April 22. However, it was determined there was no fight, only three people from East Liverpool, who came to the complex to confront someone. A caretaker told the three women they had to leave. They said they were attempting to warn a resident in one of the apartments that there was a warrant for them. Everyone in the apartment was checked and there were no warrants for any of them.

— A domestic dispute was reported at a Carter Road, Fairfield Township, residence at 9:32 p.m. April 22. Deputies spoke to a man and his mother. The man had a disagreement with his girlfriend. The girlfriend was found to be fine too and nothing physical had occurred.

— Small children were reported hanging out the windows from a vehicle in the drive through of the Lisbon area McDonald’s at 4:28 p.m. Monday. The vehicle had left before deputies arrived.
