County Sheriff

— Zachary Vescio, 22, North Beaver Street, Lisbon, was charged on Saturday morning with burglary and grand theft of a motor vehicle after he allegedly entered a home on Quay Road, Middleton Township, took a set of keys and drove a 2006 Ford F250 pickup that was in the driveway. Less than half a mile east of the home, Vescio reportedly lost control and went off the left side of the roadway, striking a tree head on and causing the truck to turn sideways and wrap around another tree. He fled the scene. Deputies were alerted to his location after hearing yelling and dogs barking. Another homeowner near the crash had looked out because his dogs were barking and he saw a man sitting in his truck and hitting the brakes. In addition to the felony charges, Vescio was cited with failure to control and OVI. The highway patrol assisted in the crash investigation.
