— A state Route 45, Center Township, man reported at 12:06 p.m. Saturday he was receiving unwanted text messages from a woman he knows, threatening to show up at his home. She would not answer the phone when deputies called and the voice mail was full; however, she texted him again after deputies called that she “ain’t answering the phone for her cop buddies.”

— Deputies assisted West Point first responders at a home on state Route 45, Madison Township, where a 57-year-old woman was found dead apparently from natural causes at 10:04 a.m. Tuesday.

— While checking the building at Southern Local Schools deputies found the north weight room door partially open at 3:26 a.m. Wednesday, but it did not appear it had been forced open and nothing seemed amiss. Deputies secured the door.

— A Youngstown woman reported at 1:13 p.m. Wednesday she loaned her 2001 red Ford F-150 to someone she knows about a year ago and he was then arrested by Boardman Police. She did not know where her vehicle was, but she found it in a parking lot near the old Roadhouse restaurant on state Route 14 in Unity Township. Deputies verified by VIN number that it was her vehicle, which appeared to have been sitting there for some time. She was told she could go pick it up or have it towed at her convenience since it was never reported stolen.

— A woman was reported on a camera at her family’s home on state Route 165 in Unity Township at 10:27 p.m. Wednesday after the online auction at the home had ended. She appeared to be walking around the house, knocking on the door and speaking with someone not in view of the camera. It was not apparent if anything was stolen.

— While checking businesses, deputies found an overhead door open in the shop area of Farmer’s Equipment, state Route 172, Hanover Township, at 10:48 p.m. Tuesday. It did not appear any equipment or toolboxes were ransacked. Deputies attempted to call someone from the business and left a message.


— An officer responded to the 100 block of Continental Drive at 1:15 p.m. Thursday where an employee reported someone had removed the catalytic converter from a vehicle that had been parked in the south side parking lot since Nov. 29.

— An officer responded to the 400 block of Highland Avenue at 10:57 a.m. Thursday where a resident reported a man dressed in dark clothing walking around the area and behind his home. Officers checked the area but were unable to find the man in question.

— Police responded with medical personnel to the 700 block of East Third Street at 9:59 a.m. Thursday in reference to an unresponsive individual. The person was found to have been deceased for a while and was transported to a local funeral home.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Third Street at 6:12 a.m. Thursday in reference to a woman yelling outside an apartment complex, but they found everything quiet and the woman not in the area.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Third Street at 4:45 a.m. Thursday where the resident reported a woman he knows was trying to enter the apartment complex by kicking in the door. The woman left before officers arrived, but was later located and said she was trying to retrieve her cell phone from the apartment. Her phone was returned and she left the area.

— An officer responded with medical personnel to the 200 block of Continental Drive at 7:33 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a combative patient who needed to go to the hospital. The patient went with EMTs without incident.

— K-9 officers responded to the Columbiana County Jail at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday to assist the sheriff’s office with the search of two vehicles in the staff parking lot which uncovered suspected marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia in both.
